I have sources that wish to remain anonymous, but are in the know enough that what they say can be taken as truth.
They tell me Sioux Falls players are paid in violation of league rules, anywhere from 400-1000 dollars. The incentive bonuses are based on position for things such as sacks, td's etc. All of which is against the IFL compensation rules. This was from one source. Below is from another.
SF players have openly been telling other players what they get paid in cash per game. They have incentive bonuses based on position for things such as sacks, td's etc. All of which is against the compensation rules. The over payments range anywhere from $400 - $1,000 (from what they say). One player from another IFL team says he saw 6 Dodge 300's, the van at the heart of the recent investigation, a blazer, and Dixon's Cadillac that they are given to drive for personal use. They call them buddy cars. 2 players per car except Dixon. He has his own.
Askew was asked if he could confirm these things and could only confirm the van. His story was backed up by a ticket he received while driving it. He could not confirm the other vehicles with any proof other than his say so. He also could not confirm the overpay as he wasn't with Sioux Falls long enough to personally collect any.
I personally can not confirm any of the above, but sources have been pretty darn right on in the past. What I've said was told to me and may not be 100% accurate, but generally where there's smoke there's fire. If Sioux Falls is breaking rules and their players accepting payments and incentives not in accordance with IFL rules all designed to win a championship I guess that speaks of their integrity and if true hope somewhere proof is found and whatever full penalty allowed by the IFL brought down on the. This is the kind of crap that needs to go away from minor league sports and all sports at any level for that matter.
Until your so called "sources" are named I would call BS on that. Ive worked for the storm and dont see these so called 6 dodge 300's whatever that is, I think you mean Chrysler. But I park in the same lot as players, and Ive never seen these cars. These "sources" are trying to bring SF down like everyone else is. Get over the fact the players want to play for a championship team with tradition and great coaching. If I could pick my team in any sport to play for I would pick the best team as well. Why would I want to play for Lehigh? they wont win anything. I wanna go where the rings are, and thats SF. The SF organization is the classiest I have seen and they treat players with the most respect. Thats why players come here. They call asking to play here. We would have been even more dominant if some of the players that wanted to come here could have. AKA Jasonus Tillery. You wanna play for the best, that doesnt mean they pay players extra. If they did the league would know. Especially if they investigate this BS story of an 85 dodge van, dont you think they would be hard on the case of this BS story. Stop making things up to make SF look bad. Everyone should quit hating and just face it that SF is the best team and nobody is gunna stop us.

Just curious, how many Storm players were called up to the AFL or NFL or other leagues? The way they have been tearing thru teams this season I would think other teams wouldve called alot of the players up.

The CFL-NFL is pretty east to explain, they're old (on average) Dixon, and his OL are closer to 30 than 21, Terry, Solo, about the same... The Storm has a habit of signing indoor football veterans, not guys just looking to use Sioux Falls as a stepping stone.
It could be argued that the AFL isn't really a upward move compared to what it used to be. And if these guys are looking to ever take their games outside again, the ruleset in the IFL provides a little better path.
I don't know what they're getting paid. I'd like to believe that after what went down in 2009 that Mr Tryon wouldn't put his team, his fans and his reputation in this town at risk. I'd like to say that the league has such clear cut rules in place that there is no grey area regarding what players can be given, whether it's cash or cars, or whatever....But if there is any grey it's going to be exploited, and the league, which is basically just the group of the other teams owners, is solely to blame
two more points to ponder..
1. have you ever exaggerated stories around your friends in the name of friendly banter? That fish was freaking 24 pounds... From the sounds of some of you cats y'all have never told a fish story in your life.
2. These are football players, and this is indoor football and these are not accountants or tax lawyers, nor is this the NFL. These folks aren't likely make money just disappear. If Chris Dixon is making $30,000 there's a paper trail somewhere...Someone somewhere has sold him something he shouldn't have been able to afford, or something... find it, you've had 4 years now, and the best that has been proven is the personal use of a 27 year old full sized van. That's the best you've got? Surely there's a former player somewhere that's got this eating at his soul, or who's upset with Sioux Falls, subpena Tommy Chavis or TySat... I'm sure they'd love to bury Sioux Falls.
My main question. Which is really holding the growth of the sport back, Sioux Falls paying players "too much", or Arizona and OKC not paying them at all?

It's amazing how some of these issues follow certain players, as well as the championships. If proven true, they would be making more the AFL counterparts. That being said, PROVE IT! We all know where there is smoke there is fire. Every IFL city should want this to be proven or cleared. If I was a owner, without any bias towards Sioux Falls, I would want to know if the deck was stacked. I would not want my product tied to a tainted team, season, league or Championship. If Sioux Falls is doing this, prove it or let it go OR change the rules so ALL teams are on level ground.

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THEY WANNA PLAY THERE FOR EXTRA CASH AND CARS TO DRIVE

PROBLEM IS THAT IT IS HARD TO PROVE. UNLESS A PLAYER IS GONNA SQUEEL, AND WHY WOULD HE DO THAT. WHAT I GATHER FROM THIS INSTANCE IS A PLAYER DID SQUEEL, AND THATS HOW THEY PROVED IT.
This kind of thing isn't new, has been going on in indoor football since its start and most likely in other minor leagues as well. Difficult to prove, yep, sure is as this isn't the NFL, there are not enough resources available in these smaller leagues to police or even investigate, but I think the Storm in their veiled threats to leave the IFL are not doing it because they feel wronged, but because they know they are on the verge of being found out on all their illegal doings and leaving would save them from having all the dity laudry exposed.
