Default Florida Tarpons

Found them in the "teams" section of the UIFL website, and then one mouse click led to another, and I found a wealth of information.

http://floridatarpons.com/demo.html

Apparently the Tarpons will begin play in 2012 at Germain Arena in Estero (former home of the af2 Firecats-sorry Stingrays)

Official announcement is Wednesday...what do you folks think?

Anything...in the UIFL that happens this season, is only an indication of what may happen.

This team could
1) Play in a two-division UIFL in 2012.
2) End up in another league.
3) End up as a travel team before this season ends.
4) Start, but not finish in 2012.

I am currently confident in nothing done in an Andrew Haines league.

A' La.- AIFL, MAHL, GPBL, and now in baseball with the UBL which has 2 months to materialize from two "teams".

Hey I am rooting for them. 6 new teams next year will open up jobs for the sport industry. Jobs we otherwise wouldn't have.

The problem is, unless the ownership groups are solid, the jobs are an illusion. If the checks bounce and the team folds pre- or mid-season, it causes more problems than if the team never existed.

Unless by "rooting" you mean "funding", that won't do much good. Good thoughts don't count as valid currency here in the US-of-A.

Well, since both the SIFL and the CIFL are lookin' unstable, maybe they'll consider merging with the UIFL for the 2012 season (a league that appears to be stable. well, on paper anyway. LOL).

Any thoughts?
