I have a thought for you. An AAU spring sanctioned "major" junior indoor lacrosse league. The player pool would be 17-21 year olds who have experience playing Tier III or higher Junior A hockey. Players are not paid to maintain college eligibility.
Play Mar-Apr-May. Wed + Fri or Sat. 20 games over 23 weeks.
Start with a PNW division maybe 6 teams out of cities like Kent/Everett/Tacoma/Spokane/Kennewick/Portland/Eugene/Yakima and possibly a Canadian team or 2.
First two years could even just play in rec rinks to just build up the product allowing in 16 and 17 year olds. With four teams year one in seattle/canada with camps followed by 10 games. Year 2 have original franchises draft and have 6 teams in rec rinks in seattle/canada with 16 games. Year three have a full draft and increase the age limit launching the full league with a more refined product and developed coaches.
The cool thing is AAU can handle the insurance as this would fall in as a youth sanctioned league.
