Well fellas, I've finally found me a league to play in. Looks like I will not be throwing any ideas or new leagues your way anymore.

I'm going to concentrate on my team and will be working towards marketing and such for it.

We will be announcing the team and the league within the next few months.

We will all be holding our breath. Does this new league involve mud or any natural resource?

What is the status of your indoor football team? What city will it be in? What league will it be in?

Go back through Spider's posts and you will know the answer. Now, he's gonna start an IBL basketball team. So, I guess he will "be throwing any ideas or new leagues your way anymore." Over 70 some odd posts, he's been throwing out ideas about multiple teams and/or leagues in indoor football, basketball, minor league lacross, dodgeball, arm wrestling, team boxing, roller hockey, minor league baseball, arena jousting, team handball, mud football, something called powerball and sixpack football, etc., etc., etc.......

What is the status of any of these? You're taking the original post waaaaaay too seriously.

Well excuuuuse me.

I don't believe I have asked you for any money or taken any from you either. Do you live in Arkansas? I don't think you really know wht I've have or have not done over the past few years.

So what if none of my ideas in sports have not made it to the national scene. It doesn't mean that I haven't tried them.

Get a life.

My two cents...the greatest games ever invented were invented by people who just went out and tried new things. I hope Spider does well in his endeavors.

Excuse you. Where did I say anything about money? It's pretty easy to see where I live. What does either of those questions have to do with the observation I have made? Would I be more qualified to make that observation if I had given you $$ or lived in Arkansas? No, I don't know what you have done, but I do know what you have posted here. I actually enjoy reading your posts. I like seeing what the flavor of the week will be.

All I did was put in writing an observation that anyone who reads these boards has made.

When every idea goes in a different direction, it would be hard for any to be successful. Get a direction, and stick to it. You never know what might happen. 20 years ago, who would have thought arena football would be where it is today? I wish you well.

Yes, and Eastpointe will always be East Detroit to me...

How is life in the Motor City? I live in Dayton now, but grew up on Oakland County.

Sorry to see the Fury fold. I wonder if eastern michigan will see indoor football again. There was that team in Flint that folded with the IFL, and there has been talk off and on again about Port Huron.

Heard any news?

I too wish Spider all the best...

My perception has been he wasn't going to just jump into a league without a good look or the proper finances...

RE:ABA...

Take Care Spider
Good Luck to you

I've got more electric football men to paint..
I need the list of all the teams.. logos... uni specs.. LOL

I actually have lived most of my life in Roseville, MI. I've been here for almost 4 years. Too many people from out of the area thought ED was part of Detroit instead of just sharing the 8 Mile border. East Detroit became Eastpointe 12 1/2 years ago, but my SI still comes to East Detroit! I worked in Oakland Co for a number of years, right across I-75 from Oakland Mall in Troy.

Life's not too bad here for the sports fan, I guess. An NBA championship, a hockey team that, if they would play, has 3 cups and has been a contender every year for the last 10+ years. We do have the UHL Mechanics in Fraser this year, I am a season ticket holder. They are the worst team in the league. The Tigers aren't as horrible as they have been recently. And the Lions...... well they are the Lions. As recently as a year ago, I had myself convinced they would be the first team to play a home game in the Super Bowl! On that note, we've got the MLB All-Star game this year and Super Bowl XL next January. We also have the 3 time NWFA champion Detroit Demolition. They have lost 1 game in their 3 year existance. We are also getting an IWFL team this year.

The folding of the Fury was the worst kept secret around Detroit sports for quite a while. The Drive was far more successful than the Fury. Mike Ilitch sold them to someone who would move them out of state because he didn't want the competition with his newly owned Tigers. The Drive actually outdrew the Tigers on some days back then. The Fury was folded the same way the Vipers were in '01 (both of which were owned by Bill Davidson). No one with the teams knew anything, but the merchandise was all on clearance months before it was official. Flint is more associated with mid-Michigan than down here, so the Flames got no coverage here at all. The first I had heard of them was when the league was bought by the AFL and the team went defunct. I haven't heard anything about any more teams coming to the area. Port Huron could work in McMorran Arena, where the UHL Beacons play. There have been a number of proposals recently to bring minor league baseball here. All have failed. The Troy proposal, which would have put a stadium on the K-Mart HQ property, died just last week.
