Hmmm ... Jacksonville.

I'll be curious to see who the owner(s) turn out to be!

Nice design, Moose. Only suggestion I might make is to make the ball graphic rather than photo-realistic for reproducibility issues. Good luck to you and your art director.

Jacksonville...So, does the Magpie want you to release Never Say Never Again in the same theater as Octopussy?

That's pretty terrible. Have they ever done logo work before? Using the photo of a basketball on the logo is brutal, same with that font.

LightningFan's two hours job on the Impact's logo is far better.

Okay, I did this at work, in MS Paint, in about two hours. I think it's an improvement.

Let's not photoshop the real basketball on the bad cartoon crocodile, please?

Not to criticize any of the fine submissions here, but for a couple hundred bucks per team, you can get a local graphic designer to do a REAL professional logo that can perpetuate across your merchandise, web site, and other promo materials. The best thing about minor league sports is all of the unique team names and logos. It is a shame that so many weak logos persist, particularly in minor league basketball. I don't get it.

Absolutely, I did mine up as a rush job in Paint, and I still think it’s an improvement. That’s saying something. A real graphic artist, unlike me, should be able to come up with something quite good. I am not so sure the GBA's designer has any training in making logos in general. First off, that logo should be vector based, it is not, and if you tried to use that logo on a shirt or a sign it would become a pixalated mess. On top of that, the font is completely unattractive and amateurish; the logo itself is a poor drawing, and adding the real picture of a basketball to a logo is just plain terrible. A quality graphic designer wouldn't make those choices, they would know what works and what doesn’t.

I would suggest shopping around some more. But, hey, what do I know?

i agree with you-and we have had a tough time with this aspect. we have contacted "lightning man" with a proposal and are waiting to hear back from him. any other suggestions would be welcome. for the record, "standard" referred us to a website guy for our broadcast site that we will be using.

It's good to know you are open and willing to work on this. Good luck.

That's legit. Professional and properly done. It doesn't matter if it's my favorite logo or not.

This moose logo is absolutely professional....best submission I have seen on OSC. It would work well digitally and on fabric and merchandise.
