Global Basketball Alliance (GBA) Director Critically Injured!
(Atlanta, Georgia) (January 19, 2008)- The Global Basketball Alliance
, known as "the GBA", sadly announces that the Director of Team Development, Brian Combs of Orangeburg, South Carolina was critically injured in an automobile accident on his return home from a doctor’s appointment at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
”While I knew something was wrong when I did not hear from Brian that afternoon, I held out hope that something came up and I would hear from him anytime.” States Don “Moose” Lewis, Managing Member of the GBA. “Finally, after a few days, I received an email from Brian’s wife Stacy informing me of the accident. Brian was in a coma and she had not left his side but she thought he was going to fight through it-after all he had been in several active tours of duty in the Middle East.”
At this time, the GBA has had no further contact with the Combs family nor do we have any additional information.
Due to these tragic circumstances, the GBA has no alternative but to seek a replacement for Mr. Combs. Therefore, we now seek six Regional Director of Team Development positions who will report directly to the Director of Corporate Development in the GBA. The GBA is also releasing the Team License for the Orangeburg-Columbia, South Carolina market areas previously held by Mr. Combs. All of us in the GBA will keep Brian Combs and his family in our prayers and wish him a speedy recovery.
The Global Basketball Alliance, LLC, was formed as a "branded" professional basketball league to offer quality professional basketball at an affordable price to families and allow players the opportunity to stay in shape as well as showcase their talent in what has been called the “off-season”.
For more information on team licensee ownership, player tryouts, coaching opportunities, and other positions, please contact the corporate office.
