I don't know about you guys but this 2 & 3 Point goal Crap sucks if you look at the attendance its down all over the league . when they change it back a few years ago it was back up .
new rules * Things need to be in place for a successful league
1) Get A Strong TV Contract ( fox Soccer channel has a 2 year deal ) we need a better one
2) Add at least 11 New teams to the league by 08-09 Season
3) Change the goal scoring system back to 1 point goals
4) put the 6 foul rule back in to the game
5) add the rule that any play who receives 6 fouls in 1 game will get a red card & miss the next game .
6) for the love of god Lower the price of tickets so we can fill the stands
for the TV games it looks like that now one come to the games anymore
7)bring back the Sunday 2:05 Start games so families can bring the kids
8) remove the 3 line violation so that the goal keepers can score during a sixth attacker mode the fans went nuts to see the goal keeper score .
9) Bring back the over & back rule this helped speed up the game
10) Advertise the hell out of the league
12) get rid of player coaching it is unfair to the other to have a head coach give directions on the field of pay
13) get rid of the golden goal games & bring the play of game back as follows (round 1 best of 3) ( round 2 Best Of 5 Series ) & The Championship Game As a Best of 7 Series )
at the rate this league is going i see it folding with in 5 years as soon as the league took on the 2 & 3 point goals attendance went down ( check the records) i have stated this time & time Again

Change the goal scoring system back to 1 point goals
This was the "main" reason the Dallas owner stopped operations.

I don't know about you guys but this 2 & 3 Point goal....
A bad idea of the old AISA/NPSL, it needed to be stopped before it was ever
started...Too late now.
new rules * Things need to be in place for a successful league
1) Get A Strong TV Contract ( fox Soccer channel has a 2 year deal ) we need a better one
Done in the mid-80's on ESPN...No major network wants to air a lower
tier league. Bring back versus!!!
2) Add at least 11 New teams to the league by 08-09 Season
MISL once possessed 14 teams and 11 when it was in it's glory & growing
days...I'm afraid those days are over for good and we have to settle for the
"major" markets that we have now, along with smaller markets that are a
work in progress (always).
3) Change the goal scoring system back to 1 point goals
We can wish...but I doubt it will happen.
4) put the 6 foul rule back in to the game
5) add the rule that any play who receives 6 fouls in 1 game will get a red card & miss the next game .
See # 3 above.
6) for the love of god Lower the price of tickets so we can fill the stands
for the TV games it looks like that now one come to the games anymore
I'm sure God has better things to do...Prices will stay up as long as owners
feel the need. Look at 80's attendance, it wasn't much better. Depended
on the city, other sports, and how the team was promoted.
7)bring back the Sunday 2:05 Start games so families can bring the kids
This worked best with the ESPN deal in the 80's.
8) remove the 3 line violation so that the goal keepers can score during a sixth attacker mode the fans went nuts to see the goal keeper score .
9) Bring back the over & back rule this helped speed up the game
See # 3 above.
10) Advertise the hell out of the league
Costs money...What should they do? Raise ticket prices?
12) get rid of player coaching it is unfair to the other to have a head coach give directions on the field of pay
Agreed...but it has gone on forever. Kills 2 birds with one stone.
13) get rid of the golden goal games & bring the play of game back as follows (round 1 best of 3) ( round 2 Best Of 5 Series ) & The Championship Game As a Best of 7 Series )
Golden goal: AGREED...Best of 5's & 7's, fan interest is never maintained.
Baseball's started, NBA and NHL are in their playoffs by then. 1988 best of
seven between Cleveland Force & San Diego Sockers was a disaster. (and
all 4 games were on TV to show it!!!)
at the rate this league is going i see it folding with in 5 years as soon as the league took on the 2 & 3 point goals attendance went down ( check the records) i have stated this time & time Again
Teams will move, fold and the league will re-expand...Indoor soccer has been
a hot & cold sport for almost 30 years now....
In the 80's, the "children" that were interested in the MISL were considered to
be "the core of the future interest of the league". That group is in it's
late 20's to late 30's by now...Someone forgot the think that their interests
would change...

Every couple of years, we get a "Wings may return" rumor. Since the last one involved the Thunder ownership and that group just bought into the new Wichita baseball team, I'm keeping it in the rumor category.

to behonest with you i think the best thing to do is to fold the league it cant stay afloat advrage attendace is 6,500 to 7500 across the leage baltimore
sold out a ton of games last year largest croud being 15,000 people
so the potential is there for the league to suceeed its just ran wrong like its been for the last 10 years

The dirty little secret of the MISL's "Glory Days" is team payrolls were so high (and salary caps so badly ignored) that teams could fill their buildings and lose money. So many teams went to the NPSL after the MISL went under because players were making one fifth to one half what they were making in the MISL ($20,000 vs. $100,000, and teams were still paying players under the table. Wichita's way around that was to get sponsoring businesses to hire the players. That's how they landed Tatu here for a season when Dallas went to the spring CISL.)

Bringing back St.Louis and Wichita, and maybe a K.C. franchise would create nice M.W. cluster of teams. As for Harrisburg, the Farm Show Arena is not going to cut it. If a team moves into the harrisburg area, then Hershey would be a better choice. I'm just not sure if a new soccer team could get any good dates with the BEars also in town.

Hell of a trick, considering their arena only holds just over 11,000.
IIRC, they had a couple of near-capacity crowds, but they did not "sell out a ton of games" last year.
And while multi-point scoring is a ridiculous gimmick, it hasn't had a real effect on their attendance that I can see.

Change the goal scoring system back to 1 point goals
This was the "main" reason the Dallas owner stopped operations.
Other than his team's pesky habit of losing a ton of money.
