IIFA 1st League Meeting
The Independent Indoor Football Alliance Conducted its first League Meeting and League open try out this past weekend in Euless Texas. The IIFA got a number of things accomplished at the meeting. First off the League will have nine teams for its 2008 Inaugural season. The nine teams that will be participating in the 2008 season will be: DFW Doom, Kaufman County Crunch, Galveston Tidalwave, Harris County Militia, Corsicana Thunder, Collin County Wranglers, Texas Rough Riders, East Texas Express and Bay Area Buccaneers.
Some of the changes that were made in the IIFA are as follows; The Bay Area Buccaneers formally the “Texas Blackout” was bought by a new ownership group headed up by Minority Owner GM and Head Coach Dewayne Ware. East Texas Express will be participating as a Travel team only. The Corsicana Thunder has been moved from the American conference to the National Conference and the Stephenville Franchise will participate in the IIFA in 2009. The new Schedule can be found on the leagues website at www.iifafootball.com. “The changes that we made will help all of our teams have a successful 2008 season” stated by Clayton Banner IIFA Commissioner and Team Operations Director.
The IIFA also held its 1st League open tryouts. There were over 60 participants at the tryout, with some of the highlights of the tryouts being Victor Smith from Lancaster, Texas running a 4.12 forty yard dash, Steven Lowe from Grand Prairie, Texas running a 4.19, Jordan Shepard from West Palm Beach, Florida running a 4.25 and Josh Booker from Irving, Texas running a 4.26. Josh Booker receiver from Irving, Texas signed with the host team of the tryout DFW Doom along with 13 others. Head Coach Dautrel Manos stated “Josh is outstanding young talent that we look forward to developing and moving on to the next level”. Victor Smith receiver from Lancaster, Texas and Steven Lowe defensive back from Grand Prairie, Texas both originally signed with Kaufman County Crunch. But Victor Smith was released from his contract by Coach Hendrix of the Crunch so he could sign with the Lubbock Renegades AF2 who was present at the tryouts, but Steven Lowe choose not to sign to with Lubbock and stay with Kaufman County Crunch. Coach Hendrix also signed Jimmy Jimenez a receiver from Forney, Texas and Jordan Shepard a Running Back from West Palm Beach, Florida. A number of teams also signed players the Tidal Wave signed five players, the Wranglers signed five players and the Buccaneers signed three players.

sounds like they will have access to some pretty fast cats!!!!!! Running that fast and not playing in the LEAGUE, must have hands made of stone or cant run routs, Hand timed I bet, so there is no way that many players ran a sub 4.3 dash,,,,,,,,,,,BS and would bet money on it.
