Rochester defeated Jacksonville 104-89. Monroe and Hailey were particularly impressive as far as the new guys go. Rollerson is interesting to watch at 6'11" and 345lb, and he's surprisingly effective. Crowd is listed at 1,297 in the release, which seemed pretty accurate. A friend spoke with an owner before the game who said they'd be happy with 500 bodies in the seats given the NFL competition, and they easily got that much, anyway.

Back to the game, Rochester was up by over 30 in the third, and to the Jam's credit, they kept working. Golden is a bit of a sparkplug for them, and he caused a few turnovers and helped them get on a run. They definitely didn't shoot the ball as well as Reading did, though. Next home game is Laz Sims night, which they seem to be promoting pretty well. Should be a good match up with what looks to be a solid Quad Cities team.

Zach Ramey hit a 3-ball in OT to give the Fury there 1st win of the year 109-108. Fury lead at half by 18, but Dallas came back to take the lead in the 2nd half. Mister Major came off the bench late in the 4th QTR and helped to get the Fury into a tie in regulation. Ramey had a great night from beyond the 3pt line...

crowd was less than Saturday night game

Good to see Rockford get a win for the home fans, and it's always good to see Dallas perform fairly well. Looks like Chicago gave Quad Cities a good run, but they remain unbeaten.

Alas, there was less than 200 fans at the Rockford game. Less than opening night.

Yesterday was a tough day throughout the minor leagues. QC's crowd actually grew from the opener, not that it's tough with 125 fans. Rockford's venue is a lot more conducive to atmosphere than QC's with a modest crowd, though. McGinn has shown some dedication by (finally) hiring a GM to help market the Riverhawks. So, with a little effort, hopefully they'll keep moving in the correct direction.

As an aside, while adding the Throwbacks late seemed questionable, they are prompt with web updates and pictures and they're very competitive. They still have some work to do at the gate, but they seem to have the critical pieces. So there's more hope there than I thought there'd be coming in.
