View Full Version : Xplosion 133, Great Falls 101
Very bad turnout tonight, but the Xplosion won all quarters, wearing their Gold Uniforms while the Explorers wore the X old home white uniforms. Hope to see more of a turnout tomorrow night.

I watched the whole game by the webcast it is excellent maybe that is why no one comes to yall games. Looked like the floor was awful slick, and that was quite a make ship team tonight, Marlyn Bryant had 29, and a couple of those dudes they threw into the game look like they maybe able to make it on the team. And Great Falls was right there to win the first and fourth quarters, but I am just happy that they played, maybe Mike Dean will play tomorrow that may help.
tonight, I don't think he could help the Explorers, although they did keep it fairly close in the opening half.
As far as the floor, I saw some kids sliding on it before the game. I've never seen it like that. I'm sure we will have a better turnout tomorrow night.

I'm not sure a trade for Mike Dean really happened. There is no word of it to the league office and it doesn't appear GF has the players to trade to RGV. I expect you'll see MD for another CBA team very shortly

Yeah none of us here in Great Falls know what is going on. Pittsburgh should have had a better turnout for these 2 games, all the guys for the Explorers except for Marlyn were Pittsburgh natives.

Would anybody really know that tho? What kind of media outlets do they have, let alone on short notice

Last night's Xplosion game set franchise records for points in a game (133) and field goals (56); it also set a Great Falls mark for most points allowed by the Explorers in a game (133).

..that the CBA shouldn't sanction. In Albany, the USBL pulled this stunt for the first game of the season (against the New Jersey Meteors, which turned out to be two players puls a pick-up team of Patroons cuts). The result was that the newspaper turned off the coverage and attendance plummeted. The spring league team never caught on, though it was a professional outfit that was well-coached (I wish the Pats have kept Coach O'Herron around, as his Butte contract turned out not to be worth the paper it was printed on). Didn't matter.
I would like to know how getting a pick-up roster together was possible given the limit of 10 roster moves in the CBA in a season.
Apparently there were local players who were willing to help the Explorers out at the last minute. When I saw GF warming up, I thought about Oklahoma all over again, since the Explorers also wore our old uniforms.
At least the game was played(291)!

CBA rules and regulations were thrown out the window long before this season began. It's everyone for themselves, survive as best you can now.
