I am suprised it hasnt been touched on yet. It appears the Sun kIng /Krunk game was almost cancelled last nite do to horrible conditions at the "gym". And our boy Chuck is mentioned in the article. I cant beleive how hard it is to make it in minor league BB. I love the CBA and going to the games, but I have to remain guarded as it appears this version of the CBA is going nowhere fast. I think multiple owners from the hometowns that can afford to lose a few bucks , but enjoy being part of owning the team seems like a good proposal. But when it comes right down to it, no matter how rich someone is, everyone hates losing money.

Morris brown college with its 75 students. Please they cant pay a light bill yet alone the heat bill.
Poor Krunk its time to move to Clark Atlanta
If Woolpert thinks those conditions are bad, he should be glad he's never had to play in Tijuana in the ABA:
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/cbasketball/302177_booker02.html
Turner says the Bellingham club played the first game in Tijuana this season, with organizers attempting to spruce up the gym by applying an oil that turned the court into a skating rink.
In an effort to fix the problem, Coca-Cola and tequila were spread over the floor before the game eventually was canceled.

My "mention" has nothing to do with the Krunk. I simply provided information regarding the longest road win streaks, of which Yakama I believe is now tied with the longest road win streak in modern CBA history. Yeah, I think they also have the longest in the 62-year history, but there's still some games in the 60's and 70's I haven't inputted into my database yet.

....doesn't add up. So, we should expect to hear more stories like this from even the "good" leagues.
Unless the NBA is your backer, those that look good will be those that have the most to burn and lose.

That attendance has got to be inflated. Reportedly there were only about 100 fans there for the opener, and 50-75 for the last game against EK. Atlanta is by far the worst run organization in the league. I don't know why the are a part of it.
Maybe Vermont should leave the ABA and replace Atlanta? Then we would still have 10 teams.

Good point. I wonder if we will see a merger of sorts with the 'stronger' ABA clubs joining the CBA. Not that the CBA is in the greatest shape, but it seems to be a lot more stable than ABA. I could see Manchester, Vermont, and maybe Halifax wanting to jump ship.

thanks. i should have checked there to begin with. the article implied some problem with the stats but i guess they made it to the league office.
almost 800, if true, not great but not as horrible as has been reported there.

First of all, if there were 734 people at this game like it said on the boxscore that Chuck gave us all, then pigs fly. I have been telling you for a long time that the Krunk don't know what they are doing. It has been a mess done there all season. Is that not obvious now? Here is a quote from the best coach in the CBA out of the article: "It's a joke. It's an embarrassment that pro basketball is played in that building." '
Hey Chuck, since you are all about stats, maybe you could research and let us all know exactly what the lowest temperature a CBA regular season game has ever been played at. If you could do that, we would all greatly appreciate it.

Too easy.

Man, what a griefer you are. Never try to bluff when you're carrying a 2-7 off-suit.
The Asbury Park Boardwalkers (1966-1968 ) played in one of the coldest buildings in CBA history, Convention Hall. Memo to anyone constructing an arena - NEVER build one right along the seashore, especially in the Northeast. You could have had 5 bonfires in that building and the temperature might have gotten above 40 degrees inside. Comparatively, that would make John H. Lewis Gymansium a furnace - especially when one considers that the entire Eastern Seaboard has been hit by a monster snowstorm, enough that the orange growers in Florida are worried about losing their crop.

Even if the heating issue is resolved, that won't alter the fact that the facility is not up to CBA standards, Woolpert said.
"In all honesty, our locker room should be condemned," Woolpert said. "There's no running water. It's disgusting."
"It's the worst I've ever seen. No one should be subjected to play in a situation like this."
Truax acknowledged problems with the facility and said the league is working with the team to either improve conditions or find a new venue.
"We're definitely concerned," he said.
The arena is just one of several problems the expansion franchise has struggled with this season, including failure to even report game results to the league. Truax said the team has "been reprimanded" several times by the league, and that they are working with the team to improve their staffing and operations.
"They don't care. They just don't care," Woolpert said of the Atlanta ownership. "It's wrong. There are rules in this league and they don't care. It's an embarrassment to the CBA."

Thank you Paul Woolpert for having the balls to actually come forward and comment about this situation. Now maybe some of the people on the board that have been defending the Krunk all along will realize just how bad it is down there.

What expectations do some of these owners have. Did the Krunk owners think they would just start a team with a "cool" name. And draw 3000 people to games in the worst sports city in america. Does Dennis"long sleeves" Truax explain how difficult it will be.

I wonder if Convention Hall is still standing?? I saw a doo-wop concert there in the 80s and it was in really rough shape then. Tough neighborhood. :D
that MB College has no heat, is in error. I just read the update in the Yakama Herald-Republic. Apparently it was janitors error. He turned on the a/c rather than the heat and nobody was around to fix the situation.

Unless this janitor is the direct decendent of Algonquin J. Calhoun, I'm not buying it. Not one cent. And I'll bet the Krunk couldn't send in the game reports because the dog ate their computer.

Really and the Xplosion hired Criss Angel to make the people except 50 "dissappear" although they are really there at the arena.
I included my source, Standard. Where's yours?

Well, if that was the case, then that same janitor must have done the same thing when we played them the first night as well. It was freezing...but...we didn't cancel our game or anything. Probably should have though - we lost!

Go look up whats happening and what has happened to Morris Brown College.
The School is on the verge of really closing.
Its not that the AC was turned on. There is not heat because:
A) The School is saving money
B) Too expensive to run it (Electric/Gas Bill)
C) Punishment to The Krunk?
D)Heating System is Indeed Broke and has been for a while
E)All of the Above
And the source?? Go look oh well you go to the Xplosion's games. You are the other 49 lost souls are the ones that attend the games.
My team drew 112 thousand in 25 Home games. The Xplosion cant draw 112 people in a game
