August 8, 2008 is the date that the league will start playing. I just recieved a Holiday greeting email card from the UFL. It had Rudolph the red nosed reindeer dressed up in a football uniform. I was pleasently suprised to see a holiday greeting from the UFL. Within the UFL Happy Holiday card was the starting date of 08/08/2008. All I can say is Me, my Wife, and three young kids will be sitting in the Orlando Citrus Bowl cheering on our team. I am singing a new song, all I want for Christmas is a UFL team here in Central Flordia. I just cant wait unitil they float an IPO on the teams or the league!!!

That's great. I would think that Orlando is a shoe-in to get a team.
I remember when the Breakers moved to Portland in the USFL. After I got my season tickets I would go to the stadium months before the season started just to sit in my seats. I had a great time and can't wait until another team ends up here (and hopefully sticks around).

Hmmm... on the same night as the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

Not that the Olympics are "that" captivating to most Americans, just that the media hype train will be somewhat distracted when the UFL is trying to start a new league.

Oh...and toe to toe with the Olympics? It's almost as if they want to fail.
