They announced it as an expansion franchise, so it's a separate entity. I'm not sure what the reason for this is though.

It's the same principal owner, so I doubt the Pirates will return.

Some of the decisions Pete has made as owner of the Pirates have been questionable at best.

Never had a problem with him personally though; he was always very friendly and generous to me on the occasions I was in Port Huron.

It's the PR hit. I've never had a problem with Pete, either, but you can't take that kind of PR hit after the season they had.

That said, if he has proven that his issues with ownership have been fixed...then hopefully it'll work out.
