View Full Version : Xplosion 117, Oklahoma 97
I'm starting a new thread on this because this is about the game.
Randy 'White Chocolate' Gill now plays for Oklahoma, apparently let loose from the Maryland Knighthawks(the last time I'd seen him was playing for the Knighthawks, in the ABA, in which we beat them by one at Mellon Arena).
As for the game, I had been concerned about the week long layoff by the Xplosion, but they won, 117-97 while winning every quarter.
A couple hundred turned out. It was unique as the X wore their Gold uniforms with the Cavalry wearing white. We play them again at Mellon Arena on Wed.
Here is my look at the game, the Xplosion are in Gold, at the bench to the left. www.photobucket.com
ok, I tried. To see the picture, click on the link, log on to my name and it will be the first photo to the left of the top row. Any problems, please let me know.

cool pics, however how do the X afford such large venues with only a few hundred fans a night?
in regards to the picture. As far as the support, they do have advertisements on their sponsors page and I'm sure they are losing a lot with their contract with Mellon Arena and those(like myself) who turn out. I'm just gratefull that we have a team(I've been trying to help promote them)!
I'm being told that they will soon have a newsletter, which I think will help draw more interest to the X. I was hoping that more would turn out, considering we were playing a new opponent. With the huge score, hopefully it will happen on Wed. But what also hurts is that the X still do not promote themselves and I have no clue why not. I'm hoping they will find a smaller venue to move into after the lease expires.

Hope the X can make things work! They have a good team, in a good league, it would be nice to see a better crowd, but hopefully that will come in the future
ticket holder, I believe they will. They just have to get back to doing what made them successfull while in the ABA, which other CBA teams are doing. For whatever reason, the X seemed to stop doing them after switching leagues. One main thing is using promotions for their games, rather than just relying on word of mouth and expecting the fans to buy the sport.

I know I had said in the past that I heard that Oklahoma would have more than just 6 players at their game in Pittsburgh tonight unlike on Monday. I guess they only added one more guy tonight, so it sounds like they should have seven. My sources tell me that Marlow Currie is the latest edition to the Calvary. Also, it sounds like they will still be wearing the Xplosion's uniforms tonight.

your sources are the same sources available to anyone who looks at Recent Transactions on the CBA website. Any insite on a different source?

Actually when I posted my message, the transactions weren't updated yet. Although you can go on continuing to hate. I guess you will also say that I didn't know Michael Ray was canned before it was posted as well. You can go back and look at the post that talks about him getting fired. It clearly shows that I knew before anything was announced.

I don't think he was hating. He had no way of knowing when the transaction page was updated.
BTW, one Albany player seems to be wearing the old practice jersey (I think it's McCaskil) while all others are wearing new unis.
