The team by the way was the 36ers.

I am under the assumption that Australian leagues play in our summer, so that might not effect you.

Looking at there schedule they play Sept thru Feb. And by looking at their photos they have large crowds. It is the Adelaide 36ers

Ron,
Could you provide a link (if it's online) to the story? I'd be interested in watching for any followups that come about.
thanks,
Howard

Here is the story I do not know how to post links. But all you have to do is go to google type in his name and then hit news and search.

The Adelaide 36ers have cut import Mike Chappell from the player list and are now trying to get a replacement from overseas.
Chappell has been battling injury and played his last game for Adelaide at the weekend.
Adelaide operations manager Paul Bauer says releasing Chappell was a very hard decision, but now that it has happened, Adelaide has to move quickly to sign another import.
"There is a guy called Josh Pace who played in the New Zealand National League this past season and is currently playing in America who we are definitely interested in getting," he said.
"If he was to commit to an offer [from] us we would hope to get him here in the next few days."

Well, I took your advice and found this more recent story

seems like the 36ers are really hot on Pace.

A few things:
1. Pace might not want to go to New Zealand if he feels he has a better shot at the NBA with the Miners.
2. The Miners should get a compensation fee if he leaves.
3. I think our best source for this would again be Zeke, because he knows Josh and can ask him, but then again, is the break he has been waiting to get a shot at playing?

Talk about some big shoes to fill!!! Anyway, I don't believe Josh is going anywhere. He has more than just that team looking at him, and, let's be honest...he's averaging around 26 a game, and pouring in triple doubles like it's a cake walk. Who wouldn't want a Josh Pace?
I honestly haven't talked to him about it much, but I think Josh is better suited to stay around here for the exposure so he can get a good opportunity to get to the NBA. Sorry - I don't have anything more than that!
