The posted article from the Orlando Sentinel says that Orlando will have a team. Has the list of teams been released or are they jumping the gun?

The article says four other cities have been approved/identified. My guesses:
Birmingham
Los Angeles
San Antonio
New York

I hope they are not forgetting about Sacramento, Ca!!

Sac. is well known for suporting thier sports teams. Thye have the best attendance in the AAA with the Rivercats(8,000+ per game) and of course the sorry Kings still pack the house.

Sac is a great choice and will lead the league in attendance.

Is Hornet Stadium ever going to get the renovations that were proposed YEARS ago?

Bad enough that Sac State can't even get a MUCH needed arena renovation off the ground... the city has been haggling with the Kings about a downtown arena for years. I'm not sure the climate in Sacto begs for pro football right now, at least not from a facility standpoint. I'm also not sure that MLS wouldn't be a better investment there.

It's not helping that Sacramento isn't able to even lock down any of the major track & field events they had been getting for several years. Eugene just locked in USATF championships for the next four years, not to mention hosting the '08 Olympic trials and the 2010 NCAAs. Reason for mentioning that is the T&F events have been drawing better than Sac State football has for some years now (and I'm talking about year-to-year, not event-to-event). That was supposedly part of the impetus Sac State was using to get stadium upgrades funded.

I think Orlando can do quite well. The USFL Renegades were well-supported in the 80s (despite being a bad team) and the XFL Rage had decent support. The Arena Football Predators also do well at the gate.

Why are you forgetting the Thunder who lost to nonother than Sacto in World Bowl II?
