Hello friends, it's the Big One here again.

Recently OSC has been the scene of yet another ugly trainwreck from a minor pro hockey league breaking up and imploding. This time we have iihl allumni Joe K. and Brian Cashman from the NAHL going at it. While I tend to take macabre pleasure out of such battles I have to bring my 2 cents into this now that I have most of the story so since grade-A A-HOLE Mike Killbreath continues to threaten to sue web servers even when I pay for the site, I will rant here, enjoy!

Joe and Chris Blasius were more or less all that were positive about the iihl and it's implosion in January last year. Joe had hockey connections and Chris had players and the drive to find them PAYING work in hockey. Guys like Glen Riddler were given the chance to move up and shine at a higher level as a result. Say what you will about Joe but that was something very positive in a very trying time for many.

Since then he has had one legal problem after another. My guess is Killbreath's threat of "millionaires with a lot of time on their hands can make your life difficult" was rearing it's ugly head like weapons of mass destruction in North Korea. Tom C. has been pretty silent about all of this but I have my questions about him and his credibility. I have to wonder who was scamming who there.

As for Joe's situation in Buffalo, he jumped in WAY too soon. Killbreath was seeking retribution to the 100th power and was willing to do ANYTHING to avoid jail as everyone was gunning for him. This made Joe a very easy target for Killbreath. This made it almost impossible to put a team much less a league off the ground for 2004-05.

As for Brian Cashman, he's been pretty cordial with me as has Joe. Both have been co-operative with their sides of the story. Brian's situation with the NEHL last year was one I didn't write much about because dispite it's problems, wasn't the trainwreck that the SPHL/SHL/WHA2/BSHL and iihl were. (I was mostly tracking Lahey of the Month candidates at the time...) I would give him this bit of advice in 2004-05: Don't bother trying to run a team or league this year unless the teams from the NEHL from last year are still afloat and are ready to go. The situation between you and Joe will only get uglier if what you both have said to me is true so it is best to lay low for a year, fix your legal problems and let the dust settle, THEN get a league and/or a team going. Learn from the Joe K/Mike K fiasco from last year and be ready to go later.

As for Joe, is he another Killbreath? The evidence certainly points that way. However, Killbreath has tried to pull outlandish stunts with me in the past so I wouldn't put it past him to try to frame someone with a rap that should be pinned directly on him. Then again, if this is Joe's 4th felony I'd like to learn more about the previous 3 before I make him a full fledged Lahey. If anyone has info on this please email me at bigchrisg@hotmail.com and I'll go over it and judge for myself.

The bottom line is this: I'm sick and f##king tired of new hockey leagues popping up because crap like this always seems to be happening. We had 4 A-Leagues playing last year, now we have none. Who won out of this? Nobody. Who lost? The fans who wanted to see hockey and the players who would have had jobs this year.

Rant's over, end of line.

It's Jim Cashman not Brian. And Tom has had nothing to say cause Joe is the one that stole from him. So he's let the court do him talking. As for Joe's history ask Jim he's got his rap sheet.
