Yesterday the NHL lost 21 players to teams in Russia, Finland, and Sweden. Teams that lost players yesterday alone were Edmonton, Florida, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Phoenix(2), New York Rangers, Calgary,
Anaheim, (2), Washington (2), Colorado, Minnesota, Buffalo, Montreal, St. Louis, San Jose, NJ, Carolina and New York Islanders. These signings are from 1 day. The only impact that the NHL lock out has is on the fans. As you can see by the newest transactions, the players are going back to their home countries, in some cases taking team mates with them and making well over a Million dollars American. A Million Dollars in Russia is 29,200.000 Rubles and that is a lot of money in Russia. These guys are living like Kings there. I doubt US hockey will ever be the same here. I didn't even mention the minor league teams that lost players to these countries.

Part of what you say is right that have signed with euro teams. They have not left the nhl they are locked out and are just playing at home until the lockout ends all of them will return to the show.Yes they are making money but they aslo have to pay to play.Exzample alferdson as signed with a team in sweden but he has to pay 1 million out of his own pocket for insurance and this is the case for 80% nhl players in euro now.

Hockeyfan2004--The players that have gone to Russia are on a straight salary, they are not in a "Pay to Play" situation. Russia is treating these players and their familes very well and in some cases are providing their familes with transportation to Russia, giving them housing on top of the salary. I am not up to speed on the other European countries, but Forsberg is not paying to play, and I don't see anybody paying a million dollars for insurance. At that price, they would be better staying in the States with their families, and skating in the AHL or ECHL that provides family coverage at a cost well under a million dollars. I can not see anybody paying a million dollars to play hockey. However, I cover Russian hockey more than I do any other country, so I am not saying the information you are providing is not true, I know it is not true in Russia, and I find your figure of 1 million dollars kind of out there a stretch.

Either way, aside from Forsberg and a few other players, if/when the lockout is over, all the NHLers will be on the ice in North America. I wish CBC would show Hockey Night In Canada via Moscow or something. Even if it was tape delayed, I'd enjoy seeing some good hockey.

I have read this also about the Million dollar fees from many sources as well. I thnk it was Sweden also you have to pay a tax after six months in the coutry on top of the insurance.
I also read that MoDo couldn't pay a lot of the Players and they are playing for nothing!!

You can thank the Teams for this mess Now they are sucking up to their fans with all their announcements
They will not get a penny of my money ever again!!
Yes I am a Millionaire myself but I do not rub that into anyone's face
I sit on a toilet like the rest of you I am not any better but the Owners are on their high horses and the fans are falling for their bs
my financial status doesn't put me up higher than anyone else
about time the fans smelled the coffee and realised what is really going on

Off my Toi-Let'
thanks for reading this but It's the trueth
Flush flush!!

Well let's see when I was in high school and in class. this one teacher told us when you go out for a job interview and you find yourself getting nervous by the person whom is interviewing you, just picture them setting on a toilet.

Well through my travels in life I find this so true in everyday life.
It makes it easier when I meet these toilet sitters who think they are on Thrones!

They had to eat hot dogs sometime in thier lives but forgot the taste of real life

glad I made you smile because I still do to this day, when I think of this saying!

Only the Heavenly Father is the Highest!!
Amen
