Hasn't been reported, but it looked like there were 3000 or more at the Viper/Toros game last night. Good crowd for a Tuesday.

I think this is pretty impressive, alot higher than I realized based on my own experience at a couple games a year or so back. The quality of the product is the obvious major plus. It definitely seems like the NBA might be missing an opportunity to turn this into its own thriving stand alone product from a marketing perspective, but maybe they're heading in the right direction.

Sam, thanks for that link. I am not that familiar with the D-League, so I apologize if I'm going to ask an obvious question, but why do the Defenders not list their attendance?

The D-Fenders currently play in the Staples center right before or after Laker home games. Tickets are not sold for the D-Fenders games on their own -- Anyone with a Lakers ticket can get in or stay for a D-Fenders game.

So you want to get technical, paid attendance for the D-fenders is 18,997. Usually you will only see a few dozen actually watching the game, though they rarely show the upper levels on the webcasts.

The D-Fenders will be moving to their own arena in Ontario next season I believe.
