Wichita GM said most players are not paid
http://www.wichitawildfootball.com/newsmore.php?id=2
most players aren't paid in the league, unless you play for Kansas, Iowa, or Conroe
NIFL
Same as APFL, some get paid, most don't

My info has all leagues leaving it up to the individual team's discretions as far as Housing, Meals, assistance finding part time jobs where team is located, etc.

The AIFL had a $500 per week "franchise player." Not sure if that carried over with the name change, or if any other leagues have such a creature.

I understand the CIFL instituted some
kind of sal cap and players are murmuring
about the potential pay cuts that would
force.

From what I hear it's up to each indiviual team what they pay. I heard the Corsicana team is paying $50 a game.

I've heard it was way less or non-existent. Do you have a link or a referrence to that somewhere?

A friend of mine got offered a contract by a team, and that is what he told me. So the only reference is what his contract says. Sorry I don't have more

I have talked to an owner, and this statement is completely false. This league is trying to be the APFL and sadly enough many of these teams were offered to join the APFL and couldnt pay the $5000 franchise fee. Pay will be at the discretion of the team. This is a recreation league and will be the same players from the semi-pro teams in those areas.

That's what I was hearing, so I was skeptical about the post by Eazee-E.
Perhaps his friend is a fantastic player and is one of the few lucky ones to get paid, or his friend is getting false info.
It's a pretty sad state of affairs when you can't even get accepted by the APFL as a team.

Well this is good info, it was in his contract that he signed,( I actually looked it over for him) so I guess he might be one of the excpetional players. But thanks for the info from you guys. Well I guess we will see what happens with this league. I'm sure there were some people that thought the IFL would never take off either, but it looks to be still running strong.

Comparing the two isn't exactly a fair comparison. Comparing it to the APFL, which operates in a more similar manner would make more sense. Hard for me to say, but even the APFL looks way better, but not by much.

Here's the major difference in the IFL and the IIFA. The IFL has been a professional league since day one. Their teams didn't start out in a bunch of horse barns and work their way up.
There's nothing wrong with what the IIFA is doing. The only problem I see is that they're trying to sell it as something more than what it really is. I'm going to have to agree with BC and IE on this one. The IIFA is nothing more than a glorified rec league.
I wish them all the best.

The IIFA is $50 to a $150 game with 50 win bonus. And thats up to the owner of the team.

Why bash the IIFA? I don't think they are trying to step on anyones toes. They are selling themselves as a single A level league, in small towns. This gives players a chance to get some indoor experience and possibly get a shot at moving up and fans a chance to see indoor football at a convenient and inexpensive site.
What's wrong with that? Like I said before, if 70% of the teams make it and they have a championship game, then their year was a success.

I guess I should have said if they last longer than one season, they will be a success (unlike the WIFL)

I do not have a problem with them being a recreational league. That is not single A level. I spoke to an owner and I was disappointed with their reasoning for having an independent league. Basically all money related. I am still interested to see if they play games at all.

Saving $5000 would sound like a good reason to join the IIFA. I would not be too eager to throw $5000 at the APFL, especially in Texas.
Just because "IndoorExpert" was disappointed in his response from one owner, does not make the IIFA a "rec league".
I'm looking forward to seeing how the IIFA turns out this season.

UIFA in 2008 will be giving $200 per game with $50 win bonus (formerly only a $25 bonus). http://www.unitedindoorfootball.com/news/Leagueheadlines/index.html?article_id=1304
Again, I salute all the players that play for these small amounts the leagues offer. I hope these salaries can increase soon.
