not so fast

I think the league looks interesting this year, it seems like it has a lot of parity, at least for now.
Hopefully, the league can hold on to more players and not lose so many to overseas.
The TV games so far from Chicago has been real good. Dakota does have a nice team, and Idaho has played well, even without Honeycutt.
Rockford has been inconsistent so far and Gary has certainly not played up to their pre-season hype.

 I wonder who would hype Gary in the pre-season? Can't imagine! :o
The addition of Shelly Clark has addressed the toughness issue Gary had in the early goings. Things should (might?) improve here on the south shore of Lake Michigan. Athough he has lost a lot of weight since his last tour of duty with the Steelheads. Oliver Miller of Dakota has shed several pounds too. I wonder, in both cases, will the weight loss effect their dominance of the boards.
I was in Gary and caught the two Steelheads/Wizards games.
Gary could not hit a shot in either game, especially Saturday night. Shelly Clark does add some meat inside which they needed.
Dakota looks like they are very talented...and their records shows that as well.

Ten, I believe I saw you walking here and there during Thursday's Steelheads game (or someone who looks just like you based on pictures on the Dodge City website). I always sit near center court in front of and just left of the guys who do the television broadcasts.
Yeah, the Steelheads weren't making shots Thursday or Saturday. Cold shooting has been a way of life for Gary since they scored 132 on opening night. Hopefully the new inside help will help calm the shooters.
I was wondering where you might be and figured that you might be one of the three or four guys who were sitting courtside near midcourt. I was sitting just to the left (your right) of the coaches in the courtside seats. Had a good weekend and saw some guys that I'm going to try to drag to Enid next summer.

...Rockford has been inconsistent so far and Gary has certainly not played up to their pre-season hype.
Oops! Five wins in a row for Gary. Most of those on the road. :P
What is Bill Bayno, Yakima's coach, saying about the Steelheads in this article?

Oops again! Six wins in a row. Five road wins in a row also--a Gary franchise record. :P
...okay, okay. I'm done being obnoxious.
The college kids are home for the holidays. Let's see if attendance increases throughout the leagues.

If you haven't read the Hammond Times article Dressed In Black yet, then I will suggest it now as "required reading" for those who want to understand the psyche of CBA owners. The article is primarily about the Gary Steelheads, but the entire league is covered. The link is as follows:

I must admit that I am intrigued by numbers, and this article does not disappoint. In my opinion, it is THE best article I have read on the CBA to date. It shed some light on the pre-Isiah Thomas CBA (which I suspected all along) and shed A LOT of light on the pre-Chris Webber Great Lakes Storm operation (thank goodness Great Lakes now has a basketball person as one of their owners).
