I am watching the Miners game tonight (well, as least, the talent competition beforehand). Where is the crowd????????????????????? I am nervous about the CBA based on the early numbers. Tell me I am wrong.

Nice green shorts with gold jerseys for Albany. Let's see what Chuck's excuse is this time. I can see it happening once in minor league basketball, but when it happens 2 times in your 5 games, you gotta change something. That is absolutely ridiculous. That is something I would expect out of an ABA team, not the CBA.

I doubt there is that many in the stands tonight. I went to the game last night and there was a much bigger crowd on hand. The given attendence for last night was 1,346. I'm sure they are giving the paid number and not how many are actually on hand. It being a weeknight and school night as well, a lot of the season ticket holders are more than likely not there.

Albany wearing their Gold tops and Green shorts and the X wearing their road black uniforms in OUR building??
Not a bad crowd, considering the Pens were also playing at home. The X had a 2-0 lead to start the game and it held for at least 3 minutes because nobody could find the basket after that, until the Patroons tied it.
For much of the game it was like the X were still in Yakama, Albany was the better team and they had a couple fans with them. I guess a few hundred were their but it was light snow and the temparture going down all day. It was 30 by 6 PM.
Albany had the lead much of the second half, though we took the third period. We battled the Patroons staying close, we tied it then they took a 2 point lead, until we tied it late in the game. Shawn Fountain gave us the lead finally, with 5 seconds left. Albany then took a time out but their shot at the buzzer hit the rim.

poor crowds For East Kentucky and Pittsburgh. No pay checks for Atlanta.

MAybe Pittsburg and Atlanta should go back to the rec league...the ABA, then they would have no worries about fans or paychecks.

East kentucky announced, 1,094....more like 250 tops
Pittsburgh..too shameful too mention

What's your problem now? I mentioned in a recent post that until the Pats' new uniforms arrive, they're wearing their yellow tops from last season. I don't know when the new uniforms are arriving, I don't work in the Pats front office. Besides, the team's colors are green and gold, and technically there's no rule that says the shorts and the tops have to be the same color.

Honestly, you're picking nits that don't need to be picked.

If minor league baseball was judged by weeknight crowds, particularly Mondays, it never would have made it out of the 1970s. Monday night crowds are evidence of nothing more than the inability to get a better date from the arena.

to chuck that the Patroons really gave us a challenge this evening. We are lucky to have made it over the even mark(5-4). Albany has a good team!

Were you AT EK? I was, and I can say that there were MANY more than 250 in the stands.

if I said I was not concerned about the turnouts we get. But I'm more concerned about the Xplosion winning. The X have a 5 year lease to the Mellon Arena. Anyone is free to say whatever they want, but I still go to every X home game and I'm proud to be a supporter. I do whatever I can to help promote the team. To me, the bottom line is that we have a much better team than we did last season, even if it takes local fans longer to realize that.
A1, what is shamefull is that you never look at the positive side, the fact that teams in this league continue to play. Don't turn the CBA into your thoughts toward the ABA.

The X and Miners are neck and neck(both 5-4) in the American Division, in a virtual heep(not exactly). The X are now 5-1 at PEC. Our next game is in Minot(Wed.), before the Skyrockets visit us for two. I'm looking forward to seeing what the crowd will be like at Mellon(first time this season), Thursday.

Yakama has a very high quality operation too. The only thing I really disagree with there is the Butte statement. Whether it was a manly thing to do or not, they did what they needed to win to a ball game.

have a good coach. But, according to the last article I read in that area's Herald-Republic, all the tribe members who were responsible for buying the Sun Kings have been voted out, which makes me wonder how things stand with the team after this season ends.

Disagree.

One word . . . . sportsmanship. Butte doesn't have it. One of their players rode the ref so hard, I thought he was going to put a saddle on him. They were whining and complaining all night (coach included) the first game, and they turned the second game into a UFC battle. Classless. If that's the only way they can win, I feel sorry for them.

I'm convinced --- haters everywhere...even the refs (had to air that out - Miners fans you KNOW what I'm talking about).

I don't care how many people you all think were at our game at the Expo Center in Pikeville. So far as I can see, we put on the best basketball operation in the CBA (no offense to anyone - just speaking my opinion, and there are still a couple of teams to see).

We have a great mascot, a solid dance team of East Kentucky's finest, our webcasts are top-notch, we have media outlets all over the area, like the Coach Keathley Show, we have Inside Miners basketball on the strongest radio station in the region, we have several billboard spots all over the region, give aways at the door, season ticket holders, sponsors, 2 owners who have a vision, last weeks American Conference player of the year (who will probably end up the MVP of the league if he keeps turning in high triple doubles like the 2 back-to-back ones he recently turned in against Atlanta), a quality 7,000 seat arena with OUR LOGO on the floor, etc etc etc etc.... Oh...ummm...oh yeah....and we have one heck of a team, who rolled past Atlanta without our 1st and 2nd string point guards AND only 8 players (and we still ran the ball all day long).

We've won 4 of our last 5 (and should have been a home sweep if Butte would have manned up to take a beating instead of getting frustrated and trying to play another game), and in all actuality, all of the games we played were winnable games. You haters can hate all you want. You're just mad because you thought it was a joke coming to Pikeville and you were wrong. We're here, people KNOW we are here, we're winning, and we are drawing more fans than any of you expected. Cry me a river with your "the announced attendance wasn't an actual figure" garbage! 1st year team with over 1,000 tickets sold for every game so far is not going to cut it??? Whatever - haters!

Zeke I watched the webcast for the first time last night and agree that it was terrific. May I suggest that you get the game clock to show up by the score cause that was the only thing I wish I had while watching.

I had trouble with the xplosion broadcast constantly wanting to rebuffer. Don't know what that is about but didn't have that problem with the EK broadcast on the same night.

I'd be cranky if I were in Butte for any extended period of time. :D

I'll point that out to management, Alumni96. thanks for the appreciation. I guess I kind of went off there for a second. I just gets so old hearing people try to knock down something that is headed in the right direction. There are a few more things to add to the agenda, but once those are in place, expect crowds in the 3,000+ at the Expo Center by the end of the year.

for the heads up, Alumni96. I never knew how the X webcasts worked, since I'm at all of their home games. But I can tell you that Yakama is in the same boat with all the buffering. I think Butte may fall into that catagory also.
That clock is the one part of the Miner's broadcast that I miss, although sometimes I don't miss it as I'd rather watch the play than be concerned about the time left. Zeke may want to pass along word about the announcers also, as they are good. But sometimes only the Pa guy is heard, as was mentioned in another post.

I've never had any problems with webcasts except for Audio on one of yakama's and yesterday pittsburgh broadcast. I didn't watch much because I was more interested in the EK game. I turned it on when Dakstats said it was crunchtime, and the webcast was at 10 minutes left.
