Now, now. Let's stop the childish behavior.

It should be obvious how they selected the new color for the football. The league simply polled the owners, I mean owner. Each of the owners, I mean owner, reviewed their financial statement for last year (taking into account the millions of dollars generated from the NIFL Network). The color selected was based on how that owner felt after their financial review. The alternate color was RED, but that was too obvious.

One final thought, if the NIFL actually pulled together the NIFL Network they could possibly have a larger viewer base than the NFL Network (which I guess is available in 7 homes). Look for CG or CS to have this put on their website.

I wonder if Time Warner will carry the NIFL Network?

Nope. They're scheduled to air on Comedy Central for 15 weeks, but should only fulfill the first 5 weeks of the schedule before they get cancelled.

Wait, based on the new ball color I think I have come up with a new team name: The San Antonio Blue ba...; oh never mind.

Whats the official over/under on how many games are actually played under the NIFL banner in '08? .............I'd go with less than 1.

Teasers, man!

Teasers!

(Imagining a Teasers v Tasers battle, for one... see if the PA announcer quits mid 3rd quarter.)

It also has the makings for an interesting dance team, and that's no digression whatsoever.

Just think, if there are errant passes, folks in the crowd could get their hands on some...oh, nevermind...

I say 20 games is a good over/under to start with.

If the over/under is 20, I'd go with under of course (I'd say 18 games will be played...a lot with mostly semi-pro players, just like the APFL).

20?????? Nobody would dare take the "over" on that. There won't be any privately held (non-league owned) teams this year. To say that they'll play even 1 game is to say that the league can "get it together" enough to actually get 2 coaches, 2 teams, and 1 field. Considering that very few games were actually played by league owned teams AT HOME last year (and considering how bad the league's reputation is right now) I can't see that happening 20 times. I also can't see anybody doing any business with this league without cash upfront.

Then again, I was shocked that the Ravens actually should have beat the Patriots last night. So, anything's possible, I guess.

There were 48 NIFL games played last year, so less than half of that is a good place to start. There will be a lot of scrub games with replacements and semi-pro players to be sure, but you can bet the NIFL will count them...just like last year. I've learned to never count the NIFL out as far as not returning each year. Each year they do get way worse though. They make the APFL look fantastic in comparison nowadays.

Raven's let that game slip away. They had their chances to win it, but blew it. Still, they gave it a good shot.

It takes money to get the first game played. I bet no one currently in the league office is willing to put out the investment needed to get the first one off the ground. If they get a sucker, though, they may get a few done - but with more problems than they had last year.

Just think if any of these teams has a cheerleading squad or dance team.....imagine the marketing that can be put behind a bunch of girls in skimpy outfits holding an NIFL football. ROFLAO

It looks more like the NERFL (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?BR=582&SBR=98&ST=SO&ID=20398&PG=1) than the NIFL.

I like the blue colored football. Looks sharp.

I like the NIFL game system.

I like NFL-like funding.

As soon as all three of the above requirements are met, I'll buy season tickets to the said league.
