I would have rather seen a new team name... Something that didn't resemble the LV team... But I'll roll with it.

I agree, I was hoping for something that would be unique to Cleveland, but I always like the Gladiators colors, so it will probably grow on Cleveland fans.

Finally, the logo, name, and colors have been established. Now they need to have a presence at the Q during Cavs games and other events to raise awareness of the team.
Last week I saw a small table off to the side that appeared to have season ticket flyers on it, but no one was manning the table to answer questions and there were no large, attention-grabbing banners to draw fans' interest to the table like the Cavs and Monsters do.

When LV got the team from New Jersey in 2003, we kept the Gladiators name then also.. did Cleveland get a new owner, or is it still the same guy?

IIRC Kosar's group bought part of the Gladiators, but Ferraro still owns a stake.

I may be wrong, but from what we hear here in Cleveland about Bernie's recent financial troubles, I'd speculate he was "given" an ownership stake in return for using his name - which is still popular in Cleveland - and becoming a front office figurehead for the franchise.

Not only did LV have this name- it started after NEW JERSEY lost the naming rights to the RED DOGS. Tatonka is probably right about the Kosar thing, until the Browns really make a push at the super bowl, his name will be associated with the glory days of Cleveland Browns football (by glory days I mean winning teams that people remember watching)
It could be a good thing for Cleveland to have an AFL franchise, but this could backfire on the city like the JungleKats did in Cincinnati. Don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing the ownership teams but, there is always going to be some conflict with baseball, with the Jake being right next to the Q.
That has always been a problem here in Cincinnati too. US Bank arena right next to Great American Ballpark

At least Sam Adams isn't involved with Cleveland.

I knew that...I was alluding to his incompetent, crooked ownership of Everett and Cincinnati.
Now run along and spam/necro some place else.
