What is it with the ABA

I took another look at some of the ABA team sites ...

Why is it so difficult to concentrate on 'the business?'

Why can't the ABA and it's teams, as a league, promote their teams effectively via their websites ... ?

Why can't the ABA and it's teams, as a league, promote their players effectively via their websites... ?

Why can't ABA teams have a website presence, 24 days into the season ... ?

And ... Why can't the ABA League office have someone who is in charge of facilitating communication with league teams about these unpolished websites ... and sending out league updates?

Hey ABA ... It's 2007 ... Stop being Amateurs, and learn to be Professionals, no matter what league classification you are in.

Just because the ABA CEO doesn't know what's going on with his own league, and can't name any of the players on your teams ...

That doesn't mean your fans have to be left wondering who they are coming out to support!

Dude, seriously.

We're all laughing at the ABA. It's a joke.

But how many threads do you need to start? Seriously. You're running the risk of making yourself look bad, too, just in a different way.

You're preaching to the choir, here.

They are valid questions that need to be addressed. The individual teams need to get their websites going and be a vital tool in their promotions, advertising and fan information. Having a weekly e-mail newsletter would also be a good idea. You are reaching your fan base and give them a feeling that you care about your product and want them to, as well.

I cannot stress any more the importance of a good website. With our site, I am not satisfied with many aspects of it, but we are trying to improve it all the time and have someone working on it all the time. The extra bells & whistles that are on it are nice, but if it is not informative, what good is it? That is why I try to add front page articles to it on a regular basis with game previews, recaps and other news involving the team.

Minor league teams are lucky that we have websites to use in this matter. Years ago, if you didn't spend money to print up a newsletter, you left people in the dark. Teams throughout the ABA need to understand this and utilize these low-cost resources properly.

Sorry Sam ... Just giving the ABA CEO and VP of Team Ops alot more threads to read!

I'll be sticking to a single 'The Magician's Thread' pretty shortly ...
