Next year will be a great season for semi-pro (minor) hoops in Canada with Haliafx Rainmen, Hamilton, Montreal Royal, Quebec City Kebekwa in the ABA. Do not know of the status of the Missassauga Red Wolves (Ontario Wolves)?
Also heard that Ruby Richman is trying to land an ABA team in London, Ontario,
Edmonton Chill will be playing in the International Basketball League next year with Vancouver to follow in 2009.
Vancouver is also up for a spot in the Continental Basketball Association for 2010-2011.
Lethbridge, Ottawa and Winnipeg also have feelers out for pro teams.
Last but not least the Premiere Basketball League is planned to open the Montreal Sasquatch and Toronto Lasers in 2009.
If any or all of this is true we are looking at 13-14 Canadian teams from within three leagues in two years or so?
Still believe a Canadian league from coast-to-coast-to-coast is a reality?
What are your thoughts?

Here are just a few of the 40+ pro basketball teams in Canada (past, present and future) that don't start with Toronto or end in Raptors
