I'm not sure if any of you noticed here but over the last month and a half the ABA stock price has gone from 0.03 to 0.12. Someone has certainly made alot of money during this time.
It appears that people still buy the stock dispite all of the issues that have been discussed here lately. There is no denying it, the stock did indeed quadruple in value.

I have noticed this. Notice also that it has corresponded to the period of announcements of Snoop Dog concerts, modeling agency relationships, 2008-2009 expansion teams.....all of which could look disingenuous to some in effort only to boost the stock price. I am not passing opinion here, just pointing out how it might look. (Meanwhile, there is no word about the 22 teams that have ceased operations this year, and some OSC board member even noticed a score posted, 100-99, for a game that had not been played.)
I don't want to speculate as I am not an expert, but I do wonder about the SEC implications here.

Yeah that was me actually. The ABA site has since taken that score down.

To be fair to the ABA, the stock is very thinly traded. I mean total volume for the day is sometimes 1000-15000 shares. Some guy with a buy order worth 100 dollars can move the market up (or down) and this looks like the stock is gaining (or losing) value when in fact its small trades moving the market.
Again to be fair to the ABA, to be frank it is an operating business. There are not a lot of currently operating franchise based business with new money in the pipeline and 29-60 current franchises that is trading under 1 dollar. It might look good to someone on that basis.
This stock will rise (or fall) dramatically if any real money is bought or sold.

All good points.
Thanks for the insight.

Sounds like the stock price could also be influenced if the majority stockowners, who happen to be very "inside" the organization, trade amongst themselves and close relations.

Exactly ... All the current ABA shareholders are all ABA insiders!
