ABA: It's back with another team in Anderson

They typically lose a few franchises along the way during the season, but the ABA (American Basketball Association) is back again, playing its unique brand of minor league basketball.

The Anderson (Ind.) Champions had been scheduled to play their home opener Thursday against Peoria, but that game has been canceled due to the uncertain status of the visiting team. Coached by Ray Tolbert last year, the Champions went 5-6 in a league where some teams played as many as 37 games and others as few as seven.

Why does it seem like the local writers don't care too much about it? This
reads more like an ad.

After loosing their opener on the road to Detroit 170-79 it didn't seem like the players cared too much either. I can asure if this team ever does play a game at home the people of Anderson won't care much either.

But.......

If they don't play, how will Snoop entertain the fine fans of Anderson with his concert stop?

:D

Love the fact that this appeared in Joe's local paper, BTW

...empty ones, as both the Champions and Indy Alley Cats found out last season.

The place holds 9,000 or so though. Snoop might be able to fill it.
