FINALLY!!!!! An expansion team does things the right way.

Congratulations.

A recent expansion team has come onto the scene in Canada and has done things I think in an excellent capacity.

- they have a working website.
- they have signed up 29 sponsors, ranging from Pubs to Sirius radio.
- they have an AIRLINE deal as they are a good distance from other teams
- they have a logo that is on the website and the league website
- they have a phone number that works
- they have a 2000 seat building and are hoping for 600-700 fans to start
- they have called a news conference, owner, some local players and league commish all in attendance 4 days ago for the announcement of the 2008 season.

yes friends this is (IMO) a good start for the Edmonton Chill (http://www.edmontonchill.com/).

Oh wait., oh sorry. My bad, this is an IBL team. Wrong board. The ABA wouldn't/couldn't do this. Sorry. My fault.

Agreed Paul S. The Edmonton Chill will succeed in the City Of Champions and the reason is this. Last time Edmonton had a team the Skyhawks, the Raptors for example were not doing well and Basketballs profile as a whole in Canada let alone Edmonton was not very high. But since then the Raptors are doing very well, Canada's National Teams appear to be gaining more exposure through things such as a new Website (http://www.basketball.ca/hm/

So I hope to see the Chill do well and im sure the basketball fans of Edmonton will show their support. Thanks to the IBL for including Edmonton and Vancouver in 2009, its great to see a Canadian game finally getting exposure in this country. No offence to Hockey but personally id like to see Canadians not be so pro hockey and not be afraid to cheer on different sports like Basketball, im sure a Proud Canadian by the name of Mr. Naismith would agree.
