This who was suppose to play tonite, but the jackass Northwest Airline refuse to allow us to make changes. Two of our players were injured and so we will be a little short tonite but dont worry, 2-0 is what Im waiting to see when they get back home.

Larry FYI only airline that will allow you to make changes is Jet Blue.
Besides them being our sponsor when we do player tryouts and something has to be changed they do it only charge us 25 dollars per change.
But hey. You are flying NWA many of these teams cant even fly on Southwest.
I knew you was legit in this. Also take care of yourself i know that you were on the list to fly. Hey take that one as a credit and go fly to Cancun after your wife gets better and have a great time :-)

Always been a fan of his every since he was at Michigan. Are any of your games broadcast online and in English (as I believe you said your team was a BSN side from Puerto Rico)? I'd be interested in following Tractor Traylor's season.

It has been reported that SYracuse won 100-71 with a crowd of 1,000 but most were freebees.

Shootmaster where do you live?
Best bet would be Directv. Although BSN games are televised on Comcast, Qwest, Cox, Cablevision and RCN in a vast amount of areas.
You would have to pay for the spanish programming. But trust me its worth it.
The BSN is televised through a Network called WAPA America which is owned by Liberty Media (Directv's parent owner & owner of the Atlanta braves). WAPA televises 2-4 games per week of the BSN. There is always a saturday night game although there a usual tuesday night and if theres four games in the week televised they are usually on Wednesdays and Thursdays. BSN's off night is Mondays.
BSN is working with FIBA Americas in getting the games online but who knows since when BSN did do it online it was through Realnetworks and Real couldnt hold the bandwidth and the amount of people that would try to get on (Circa 2004). The league is going to work on an english page especially since FIBA wants it to be done and the NBA would like also for it to be done. NBA Refs work BSN games after the NBA Season is done.
There is real time game updates online and as of this year on tv if you do hit the SAP button there will be english play by play.
Two BSN teams will be part of the FIBA Americas league starting next month and Tractor will be playing for the Santurce Crabbers (1998,1999,2000,2001,2003,2007 BSN Champions) the Miami Tropics (Former ABA Team) and the PBL All Stars are also part of the league.
Personally I think 2008 which will be the BSN's 80th year will be a great year league wise especially with the vast improvement of the teams, venues and with the league entering year 3 of TV broadcasting to the US and the rest of the world.
Any other questions feel free to ask (GOD DID I SOUND LIKE JOE BUT WITH NO LIES)

That's awesome, except I can't get any of those channels since I live in Saskatoon, Canada (former home of Antrone Lee of the Conquistadores de Guaynabo, when he played with the CBA or maybe it was still IBA's Saskatchewan Hawks). Any chance Raptors TV will be showing some games? I figured coverage would be non-existent on TV in Canada, which is why I was wondering about internet radio.
Perhaps I will have to make a trip to Puerto Rico early in the season and check out a game. I've been trying to plan a warm vacation this winter, but can't seem to find somewhere interesting and not outrageously expensive. I have a feeling early BSN games will be better attended with the collapse of the Winter Baseball League in PR as well.
But it sounds like the BSN is trying make inroads into the US and good on them. Just remember those of us north of the 49th parallel too please.

Man I've been to Saskatoon, (Price Albert, Swift Current, Lloydminster) in February. God it was bitterly cold. That being said the answer to your TV dilemna is
1/ get a US direct TV package, you just need a PO box in the lower 48
2/ then buy a BellVu satelitte sys, the dish is pointed at the exact same satelitte. All US and Canadian TV comes from the same sat its just on the ground you need to de-code your signal feed. The DTV box will decode the US feed, the BellVu will decode the Canadian.
3/ You can use the same satellite dish but simply hook it up to a different box.
My brother-in-law has a bar/pub in Florida and does this for the Canadian snowbirds to watch the Grey Cup, Don Cherry on Saturdays and now more than ever English Premier soccer games carried on Canadian TV.

Carmelo is a class act. Very well behaved gentleman and a great player for the Conquistadores (Played with Kevin Pittsnoggle) and for the National Team. He may be part of the Miami Tropics in the FIBA Americas league or may be part of one of the two Mexican teams that will be part of that league also. He is currently in Mexico.
It is sad of what has happened to our winter baseball league this year as it shut down due to economical and lack of fan interest (Our MLB Stars stay at the golf course and don't care about the fans).
But as of next year MLB will be taking the league over so that is going to be a good start.
BSN has moved their season to start in February due to FIBA's mandate that all professional leagues that are under FIBA are to end by June 30th unless there is a strike or a disaster that causes the season to extend by that date and that does also mean that your championship has to end by that day.
The BSN in the last two years have had regular season games held in Orlando. The first year the league handled all the promotion and 8500 showed up. Last year some fools ran it and did a bad job promoting it and only 3500 showed up. This year BSN will handle it and it will now be played at the Milkhouse at Disney Wide World of Sports.
This league has had its ups and downs but 100% of the games are played and players get paid.
BSN also has a shoe deal with Nike and Jordan Brand for the teams and players. As of 2009 the league will begin using one standard company for all team uniforms. I think Nike has the inside edge for it but who knows relations change in basketball like underwear.
I will let you know if theres any webcasting this year and which teams will be streaming games via radio or through the Armed Forces feed.

Interesting. I didn't realize you could use an ExpressVu system that way. Might be something I will have to look into. That or if I get the job I'm applying for with the CRTC change things from the inside.
By the way want bitterly cold? I went to the Vanier Cup (Canadian University's BCS Title Game) last November along with 13,000 other fans (that's capacity), when the temperature with the wind chill was -40. First time I'd ever heard of FieldTurf turning to ice. The rubber pellets that hold the blades of grass froze together creating a slick playing surface.

Is the BSN making designs on moving into the US with these games in Orlando? What I mean is will we start seeing teams popping up in the Southern US and possibly points north?
Thanks by the way. It'll be interesting to hear basketball from another country. I always enjoyed watching the Euroleague as the play is much different from the NBA.
