The western womens hockey league was formed in western canada so there would be elite womens hockey. Both edmonton & calgary pulled out to form this new league claming they wanted to play more games and to play more teams. The sad thing is it seems they did not think about this first teams will only play 21 games edmonton and calgary will play 8 games while in the nwhl they played 12.Both of these teams would have been better of helping regina and minnesota get nwhl teams it is very clear the wwhl will be well below the talent level of the nwhl.Toa dd they are haveing trouble getting sponcers etc.

I'm not sure where you got 21 games from, but according to http://www.womenshockeymn.org/ the Minnesota Whitecaps will only play 12 games. 6 at home and 6 on the road:
Oct. 22-24 vs. Edmonton Chimos
Nov. 26-28 @ BC Breakers
Jan. 14-16 @ Saskatchewan Prairie Ice
Feb. 25-27 vs. Calgary Oval X-treme
How do you figure that Calgary and Edmonton will play only 8 games? I would assume they'd play at least 12 in the league like the Minnesota Whitecaps. Plus these teams routinely play against CIS women's teams in exhibition games. Seems to me the Chimos played twice, if not three times against the University of Saskatchewan last year.
Plus I highly doubt that the calibre of play will be any worse than the NWHL. The BC team will probably consist largely of the Vancouver Griffins players. Minnesota will feature American Olympians. The only team that may be weak is Saskatchewan. However, the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina women's teams have been largely competitive the last few years, meaning there are several talented players in this province.
A few names I've seen floating around as far as players go are:
Hayley Wickenheiser
Cassie Campbell
Cammi Granato
Other sites have added "other US Olympians and US National Team members." I know the NWHL is essentially a Canadian league, so this will add some tremendous players to the WWHL. I wouldn't go deriding the league just yet, how about waiting and seeing how the play really is once the puck drops. I know I would check out a game if the Prairie Ice play near Saskatoon.
