in the article, the city of Seattle seems to be dragging their feet on this, leaving the Sonics owners with no choice. The fans get victimized.

The arbitrator ruled in favor of the city in regards to the lease of Key Arena, which runs through 2010. My understanding is that the city will file an injunction to keep the team in Seattle, while offering a rebuild of the entire arena.

It's not as if the city or King County haven't had this issue before. Everyone has TRIED to break a lease with them, and nobody has succeeded. It seems S**ttle has lawyers there who actually work for a living.

I'm curious to find out if the city could actually force Bennett to sell. Probably not.

I think the days of public subsidy of these franchises is just about over. Oklahoma City may benefit from having something in place. Miami may keep the Marlins. That might be it.
