Does anyone think it would be fair if I just called this a ponzi scheme now and saved us the rancor?
I don't think it would be fair, personally... but I'm losing my patience for "fair" in this environment. Get teams in your pocket (preferably EXISTING ones, or owners whom you can count on to provide one), THEN start the bleeping website.
I figure it's too much to ask, but I don't think it hurts to ask.

Could it perhaps be "that league" that the Tallahassee Titans owner knows about which nobody else did?

No, the IIFA plans to be a Texas-based league.

It looks like the APFL lost three Texas teams (Kaufman, Galveston and Wichita Falls) to the IIFA already.

Their "• Alliance marketing team – We will make you money" claim could get them in the deepest doo doo in indoor football since the EIEOFL.
"fan-friendly organization" and "family entertainment" sounds straight out of a Joe Newman ABA release.

"Market research?" What's that?
Geez...this league won't hit week 4.

The IIFA teams appear to be independent, so they don't necessarily depend on eachother for success. Some teams will be stronger than others, but it should'nt hurt the other teams. Looks like the best of both worlds. Teams don't need to waste money on league fees.
I'm interested to see how it works. Can't be worse than the 2007 NIFL or WIFL.

While the WIFL doesn't exist anymore, it wasn't poorly run.
And they depend on each other for success....if the other team doesn't show up, your organization looks bad.
Contrary to the belief of some, league fees aren't necessarily a bad thing.

What happened to the Gainesville (TX) Pinners team that was originally listed as an IIFA franchise?

I read on another board that Gainesville won't be ready to go until 2009.

I have seen pics of these arenas there is no way they can afford real turf and the real indoor systems. I think they may turn to Lowe's you know they have turf by the roll there.

If the league keeps their cost of travel down they could be around for a long time.

And if they were a real indoor league ,lets face it playing in mostly soccer arena's which is where these teams will end up playing is fine for the level they are going to play at .But to even think this is arena/indoor football is a bit much, now if they were smart they would market it as another form of the sport and maybe play it with 7 men give it a nich with some different rules that could be incorporated into the game they would be playing,Our good friend from the NIFL could take this league to that level I'll bet they should talk with him.;)

It seems that the IIFA has marketed itself as a single "A" level of indoor football. They call themselves a developmental league. It thinks it's a great concept. They are not competing with Arena 1 or AF2, for that matter.
I would say it would be similiar to single A or Rookie League level of professional baseball.
I'm curious to see how they do. If they can get 70% of their teams to finish the season and have a championship game, then I would call the season a success.

I would have to agree with indoor fan with the IIFA using a cheaper arena(ropeing, soccer or what ever) and the travel cost a little of nothing. They may be on to something.

So does annyone have anny news about this league? The rules look very similar to the IFL rules except for the fact that in the IIFA it looks like you ca have 3 people in motion instead of one. Looks like defenses in this league are gonna have some real problems. So what are some of your guys thoughts on this league? I mean the fact that all teams are in texas is a good thing less travel cost for all the teams. Maybe the teams in this league, and the IFL can join together for one big league later down the road.

Sorry E but the IFL cost money to play and Mr D. want his up front so unless a team from this league can put $25,00.00 on the table forget about it.And looks like none of these teams can put that kind of cash up, it says it is Blue collar ownership.

If you based it on facilities alone, very few of these teams, if any, would qualify to be in the IFL.

This is another recreation league calling itself professional. This league has no merit and certainly the owners have no money. The information coming out of the league is comical at best.

Hello this is Larry Hendrix of the Kaufmanc County Crunch. The APFL ask me to play in their league, but the road trips up north would have killed me financially because I lost one of my major sponsors. So I choose to play as an Independent for 2008 season like the Wichita Wild did they 1st year. As I was calling around booking games for my team than the IIFA contacted me and I like what they had to say. It’s easier for a team to travel 40 miles to play than 400 or 500 mile to play. I have owned my turf, dasher boards and equipment for over a year. I choose the IIFA over the APFL because I didn't want to be one of those teams that is just road team or only makes it through half of the season than folds or a team that is supposes to have an arena to play in but they can afford the $1700 to $3000 rent to in there. This way I can insure that the Kaufman County Crunch will complete our season and really be a fixture in the Kaufman Community.
PS “IndoorExpert” who was the owner you spoke with because it wasn’t me.
