ABA JOINS WITH VRCA RECORDS TO PRODUCE CONCERTS

http://www.abalive.com/news/releases/?newsid=2007102606001

26-Oct-2007
Indianapolis, IN -- The American Basketball Association announced that it has entered into an agreement with VRCA Records, an Indianapolis-based concert company, to produce a series of concerts in coordination with ABA basketball games beginning this season.

According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "Entertainment is a major part of the ABA experience and having a variety of concerts will greatly enhance that experience. VRCA records, and its owners, Paul and Robert Allsup along with Billy Braswell and Carol L. Anderson, have put together an excellent program consisting of hip hop, rap, rock and country artists that fans will most certainly enjoy."

VRCA Records was founded in 1996 and over the course of the past ten years, they have played a very large part in new artists being seen and heard. Today, they have a stable of over 40 recording artists and are working on a new reality television series similar to American Idol and Nashville Star. "It is our intent to blend the top names in the music industry with new artists at these concerts," stated VRCA CEO Paul Allsup. "We are now talking with some of the biggest names in the business to kick off the concert series which will be announced shortly."

The concerts will be known as the ABA Red, White and Blue Tour and each will support a local charitable organization with proceeds from the event.

VRCA Records has its own in-house record label with national and international distribution, has its own production company called Arrowhead Productions and an artist development and management company and in-house booking agency. Offices are in Indianapolis, New York, and Los Angeles.

Paul Allsup is the CEO of the VRCA Enterprises, LLC and has a long background in the music industry in Nashville, Tennessee. Billy Braswell, President, runs the Arrowhead Entertainment Group for the company while Robert Allsup, VP, oversees all areas of operations of the company. Carol L. Anderson is the Comptroller and has over 35 years of experience in management, ownership, recruiting, training, supervising, advertising and marketing and is currently the owner of North American Manufactured Homes, Lacarto, Inc. (a manufactured home park), General Supply LLC.

"I am really pleased to be a part of this organization and the ABA," stated Ms. Anderson. "We have high performance expectations. We are always looking for that next person, product or niche to help take our companies success to the next level. We think we're poised to be a major factor in the music business."

Additional details will follow shortly.
----------------------
Are these in 'addition' to the Red White & Blue Concerts and the Stars In Motion??

"We are now talking with some of the biggest names in the business to kick off the concert series which will be announced shortly." Of course, the 'biggest names' will fly on the ABA's official airline (to be announced) and will have their concerts broadcast on PlayOn (a division of Turner Sports).

As of October 8, 2007, the nightclub that is referred to as VRCA's new, state-of-the-art headquarters, is listed as available in the Terre Haute commercial properties listings. VRCA may be facing some challenges, and a pending investigation into allegations of copywrite infringement will hopefully not put VRCA's future success into question. New owners have been recently enrolled in the enterprise, according to VRCA's website, hopefully bringing some validity to the proceedings.

Not surprisingly, their wikipedia page (which was originally established in March 2007) reads almost like a shill advertisement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VRCA_Records

And did anybody notice that one of the artists on VRCA Records, Jimmy Counterfeit, was originally one of the featured artists on the Red White & Blue concert of 2006? Yeah, the basketball league is falling apart, but we're going back to promoting concerts! Yee haw!

So, Joe has aligned with Paul Allsup on an entertainment venture for the ABA.

How did it work last time?
http://www.oursportscentral.com/boards/showthread.php?t=3390

Speaking of canceled ABA shows, surely everyone was excitedly awaiting the gala Red, White and Blue concert to be held in Little Rock yesterday as a reward to that market's return to the league (of course, the event was SUPPOSED to be at the home of the Alley Cats, but since they left to the CBA, apparently those people no longer deserve fan-friendly entertainment - music or basketball - at affordable prices).

A lot of hype and bluster, and promises of 'big name' talent in attendance...

Then, this quiet posting on ABAlive:

Quote:
ABA RED, WHITE AND BLUE CONCERT
AT BARTON COLISEUM, LITTLE ROCK
RE-SCHEDULED FOR LATER THIS FALL.

FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT JOENEWMAN@ABALIVE.COM

According to the venue, the event promoter canceled the concert, two days before the date.

But, according to the promoter - Paul Allsup:

Dear Sir,

Mr. Newman the CEO of the ABA Basketball League paid for marketing too late and he only had 12 days to market this show. Because of this there werent very many ticket sales. It was not me who cancelled the concert but the league itself and trying to blame me. If you wish to question this please call Meri Smith at Barton coliseum in Little Rock, Arkansas

Mr Allsup-

According to press releases, you are the promoter for the ABA concert scheduled for tomorrow in Arkansas.

I saw on the league website that the concert has been postponed, and according to the venue, 'the promoter' made the call to do so.

Why was the concert canceled? There seemed to be a number of acts lined up, and the venue was secured.

Thank you in advance.

Joe - trying to blame somebody ELSE??????

No way!!!!!

The ABA - it's not our fault!

I guess Paul got over it...
Pathetic

So, when does Joe team up with someone to get a complete schedule published?

You cannot blame Joe, look at the mega success of Starz in Motion, PlayOn and Play with the Pro's. Seems like a good idea, since the other promotions went off without a hitch. Whats the big deal?

CEO Paul "Paulee" Allsup has been occupied recently with seeking out new talent and distributing pictures of fictional aircraft, but he will reportedly be making time to travel personally with his artists on the VRCA Records Red White and Blue tour. His uncanny ability to write and speak lengthy sentences without the need for punctuation, coupled with his skill at retrieving spare change from the floor without using his hands, should ensure record-breaking attendance for the tour.

Well, if you need further information about the veracity of VRCA Records, allow me.

This was from an archived page of the Jimmy Sparks Band website (to get there, google "VRCA Records" (in quotes) and then scroll down till you see this page from the Jimmy Sparks band, then click on the "cached" version and you will find this:

We are in no way affiliated with VRCA Music, VRCA Records, VRCA Booking Agency or any of Paul Allsup's enterprises. Without our permission, Paul Allsup is currently using our images to promote VRCA Music, as well as claiming to perform booking activities on our behalf. He was contacted in by our attorney and asked to cease and desist on 9/28/07, and has yet to comply as of 10/15/07.

It has come to our attention that we are listed as a "Sponsor", and referred to in a "Press Release" as having a contractual relationship with VRCA, neither of which are true.

We wish Mr. Allsup the very best, and urge any fellow artists engaged in similar negotiations to perform their own due diligence.

We hope that you will check out our site, sign up on our mailing list, and catch us live. We've got a lot of good stuff planned, so check back in often.

We have seen this before...Is it Joe's idea that now:

1) Suspect owners of bubble franchises will believe "he means well..." and
stay a little longer?
2) Play On will be calling the basement, hoping it isn't to late to come back?
3) Fans will flock, not only to see friendly, affordable basketball -- but also
the entertainment it has to offer as a sideshow?

No finished schedule, franchises that may or may not exist, more fallout
from franchises everyday. But They got a concert deal!!! Whoopee!!!

I swear if Newman was in a major earthquake, he would be the only person
to think "This is a good time to break out the Shake & Bake..."

 Paul Allsup of VRCA Music and Joe Newman of the "American Basketball Association" should be in prison for "conspiracy to commit fraud"...
In early 2006 Paul Allsup did not have a job, a car, a driver's license and could not afford to pay the rent for his third wife and thier children (Paul's children or Cheyenna's children)... So, he moved his family back in with his father, and began to hang drywall with his father, again... I have "firsthand" knowledge of Paul Allsup and his history of defrauding...
The ABA is an organization with financial problems, problems with the SEC, internal conspiracy... as of 26 October, 2007 thier publicily traded stock is worth .075...on the NASDAQ... From a week low of .03... Traded in blocks of 5000.. which amounts to (at .075) $375.00...
No contract Paul Allsup as ever committed to has ever materialized... Now Paul Allsup is promising gullable women $350,000.00 to model ABA consumer sportswear for a three day photoshoot... "What's wrong with this picture...?"
His "internet music company" is under investigation for copyright infringengement...He continuues to use the names of music artists, without their permission, to promote his business...The nightclub in Terre Haute, Indiana, that he claims to use as his "company headquarters" is for sale (available on the market)... This information is all available on the internet... even on this very site... I have "firsthand knowledge of the fraud of Paul Allsup... I can be contacted at FiresideEagle55@netscape.com
