NEW YORK – The National Conference’s Eastern Division will compete with five teams in 2008 due to the relocation of Las Vegas to Cleveland. The team spent the previous five seasons in the American Conference’s Western Division.
The remaining three divisions will compete with four teams each. The American Conference’s Nashville Kats and National Conference’s Austin Wranglers will not return for the 2008 season. The other 16 AFL teams will remain in their respective 2007 divisions.
The last AFL realignment took place prior to last season when the New Orleans VooDoo returned from a one-year hiatus due to Hurricane Katrina. The VooDoo rejoined the National Conference’s Southern Division and the Kansas City Brigade shifted to the American Conference’s Central Division.
