The people up there need to swallow their pride and look more down south for talent, I just saw a video of a DL from last season in camp with one of the teams and was KILLING the other OL there and didnt make the team. They didnt even want Quincy Carter there. Coach Prop needs to do something cause his coaching isnt winning games for them

It has nothing to do with the players they bring in per se. The problem with the Als is that Anthony Calvillo is getting on in age and has been injured part of the season. Jared Payton has been playing well for them, as has Ben Cahoon.

Also that video you saw, was it from regular camp or rookie camp? I'll let you in on a little secret about rookie camp. Very, very few players from there make it into regular camp. In fact the majority of rookie camp players are players who are either recent draftees, who the CFL team intends to return to the CIS for another year, the territorial exemption players from the CJFL (sort of like JuCo in the US, except they're club teams not school teams) and the scrubs they find in the US. The US players who are going to make the actual roster, generally are not at rookie camp.

Also, could it be that it has nothing to do with the O-lineman being Canadian or being bad at his position? Perhaps, the D-lineman was an exceptionally good player playing against a inexperienced Developmental Squad bound O-lineman. The simple fact you can find a single video showing a D-lineman dominating a O-lineman doesn't mean the CFL needs to scout better.

I'm not sure if you watched the Riders/Stampeders game over the weekend but Gene Makowsky of the Riders is a phenominally good O-lineman. But guess what? He is born in Canada and played his college ball at the University of Saskatchewan, in Canada. As well, only 1 player on the Saskatchewan O-line is an import at all, Jermese Jones. The starting D-line for the Stampeders on the other hand is all imports. The Riders gave up no sacks in that game and had 177 yards rushing in that game. Overall their offense had 467 net yards. So obviously there is no need to "look south".

Perhaps the Als need to bring in a few players, but the league itself are not full of morons as you seem to think. Jim Popp has never been a great coach, but he seems to think he is. His main tactic seems to be challenging plays when he's not allowed and faking injuries, neither of which denote great coaching ability.
