The NLL's new Boston team will be called the Boston Blazers. For three seasons (1988-91), the NLL's predecessor, the Major Indoor Lacrosse League, had a team called the New England Blazers based in Worcester. In 1991, the team moved to Boston as the Boston Blazers, who played as part of the MILL through the 1997 season. Prior to the 1998 season, the MILL was reorganized as the NLL. The Boston Blazers joined the NLL, but the franchise went dormant and had not played as part of the NLL since that time.
