ABA Contracts

Just curious..... what are in typical ABA contracts? Do they simply get paid per game?.... or do living expenses get included in the contract? What else is normal- incentives, bonuses? With all you insiders, someone's gotta know.... :p

BBGirl - nothing makes sense in this circus. NOTHING

A lot of teams will recruit local talent (term used lightly) so they don't have to pay for housing. The long and the short of it is a lot of players are promissed exposure, not money.

Yes contracts do exist in this circus......um sorry............league, but only a couple of guys will actually be paid to play. The players are expected to keep pumping gas, parking cars and unloading the luggage off of an airplane Full TIme whilst playing BBall part time.

Also the contracts that are signed can be opted out of using federal bankruptcy laws. A number of players and off court employees have basically been told to walk. Ask our pal Zeke on this. He got shafted, admittedly his was a verbal promise.

The compensation your average ABA player recieves consists of some unmarked 5 dollar bills, a rubber check, a couple IOUs, and exactly 11 Egg McMuffins.
