Just noticing that with the demise of NFL Europe comes this league. I sincerely hope it isn't affiliated with the NFL. The NFL needs competition. Does anyone have any information about this?

It's unaffiliated. Which means it will die (faster) than it's already limited financing and poor business plan would have.
