Here's how I see the Olympic tourney coming down:

Gold Cuba
Silver Japan
Bronze Canada
4th Greece
5th Australia
6th Chinese Taipei
7th Italy
8th Netherlands

Technically, Greece shouldn't finish that high. But since baseball isn't played in Greece and the host country makes it in for every event, the IBF had the world put together a team. The Greek team will have many players from the minors on it, that have some long-lost connection to Greece.

I still can't believe Australia beat Japan in the semis and that Canada couldn't beat Japan. I hope for the next Olympics the major league clubs don't put pitch counts on their players. If Shawn Hill could have completed the game against Cuba, Canada most likely would have won it. Oh well, there's always the World Cup MLB is proposing for March of 2006. It will be nice to see Eric Gagne and Justin Moreneau in Canadian uniforms.
