Has anyone here ever been near Washington and California avenues in Chicago where this place is located? As a lifelong Chicagoan, I wouldn't go near there if someone put a gun to my head and a knife to my crotch.
A nail salon, barber shop and auto detail shop in the same building? Come on man!! This is one of the most dangerous areas of Chicago. Let's put it this way........I'd be a snowball in a coal mine around there.

Big deal they got a place to play, eight weeks before the season starts. They don't have a schedule on their website, they don't even have a contact telephone.
When the ABA has to make a press release just to announce that wow, a team has a home venue, that just tells me this league is grasping. Seriously grasping.

In other words, you'd melt two miles below the surface of the earth?

I'm not going to use a racial explaination and get banned......again. Let's just say that there is the Chicago Police District 18 station on 3400 W. Harrison that serves that area and the action never stops. The Throwbacks have a "home court", no phone number, emails that never are answered, and a PO Box number for fans to send money orders for season tickets.
At least the 14 fans won't have to travel far to file a fraud complaint with Chicago's Finest!!

I hope there will be no gun battles in stands like they have in some Chicago Public League games.

I could stick a sign in my front lawn that says " Steak House", that doesn't make my home a restaurant.
Chicago Skyliners ABA- played championship game in front of 300 people
Chicago Soldiers ABA- never played a game
Chicago Rockets ABA-never played a game
Chicago Rockstars ABA- folded after 4 games, home attendance in the teens
Chicago Throwbacks ABA- NO CHANCE IN HELL OF PLAYING A SINGLE GAME

So the throwaways are playing at Tim Grover's place in Chicago...the same Tim Grover that was at PBL try-out camp Saturday? Very Interesting.

If the game gets boring, or the opposing team doesnt show, or the Throwbacks one night just dont play, at least the few that came out can always get a haircut or nails done, or car or go work out
Maybe if the other team doesnt show, the Throwbacks can go find people around the facility to suit up LOLOLOL

WHAFAN, I attended a Rockstars game and there were about 150 people there. Not good, but Not exactly the teens.

From the news release:
"and the facility features a barber shop, nail salon, auto detail shop, a weight room (larger than a basketball court) as well as a therapeutic court for injured players."
I see nothing but great promotional opportunities:
"Welcome to must-win night. If the Throwbacks lose, they get their heads shaved."
"Tonight we have a special prize for the best nails in the stands."
"To the owner of licence plate number xxx 234, you have the dirtiest car in the parking lot. You win a free detail from our auto detail shop." (Our now former local minor league basebal team actually had this promotion. They'd show the car on the jumbotron)

A call to the Attack Athletic center and you will learn:
Seats only 600.
Gated parking lot with armed security guards
Video security inside and outside
Private salon and other areas for private VIP members in the future.
A call to someone who lives in chicago:
"you would have to be crazy to go there at night"

Walker and Curry used this gym this summer and were followed home by some gang members that robbed them in their homes.
the Throwbacks found a home. With a name like that they may as well be playing in a museum.
And their home includes a nail salon, barbara shop and an auto repair place along with a weightroom. The room I can understand. But the others, they can be good alternatives in case the game gets bad. For those who attend that is.

This is why the ABA is about as stable as a sandcastle in a hurricane.
Of the 42 official franchises in the ABA that are scheduled to play in the 2007-08 season, four don't have websites, more than 20 don't have the team's schedule, several have no working telephone, a couple don't even have an arena.
And all this less than eight weeks before opening day tipoff.
Now all you ABA apologists and team owners, including those who try to double their rosters by using two different OSC nicknames, here's what I want right now. I want a full league schedule. Every team that is supposed to be in the ABA with at least 30-36 games for a schedule, I want every game to appear on both the home and away teams' webpages. In fact, I want working webpages for every franchise - and not quickie myspace pages, I want something with some substance. I want this by 12:01 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time, Friday, September 21. In other words, I want to wake up Friday morning and go to every team's website and see a schedule. This year's schedule. Not last year's schedule. Not the Yankees schedule. Not the schedule of when the owner has to make a car payment.
Because without all that, the teams in the ABA are nothing but a bunch of community center fish-fry associations who would have to give up their home court at 6:00pm so that the YMCA Senior Men's League can practice.

I want $1,000,000 in unmarked bills by 12:01 a.m. EDT, Friday, Sept. 21.
I think the odds of me getting what I want are far greater than the odds of Chuck getting what he wants. :)

Demanding the ABA something is like demanding a deaf/mute man to talk and listen without sign language
Standard, I would think even that has a better chance, than Chuck getting his demands met.
