Based on the Kane-Reece Econometric Valuation of a sports franchise, Using the formulas they recommend. The value of each ABA team is....... ZERO.
The value of the ABA league is ZERO. AGAin, my math may be off so maybe someone else can try. Here is what I got when using their formulas:
0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 0 value
But if you ask Joe, He will tell you, in my opinion, the league is worth millions of dollars. He must use the toupee-Muffin formula. This is where you take the cost of buying a team ( 20K) and multiply it by the number of hairs in the toupee ( 800,000) then again multiply by the price of an egg mcmuffin ( 99 cent special) = 1.6 million/team x 43 teams = 50+ million dollars.
Most sub-prime lenders will look at this loan if your considering buying the ABA.
