I'm curious what happens when a team holds tryouts, and less than 12 players signs up? Do they automatically make the team (assuming their fee check clears)?

Minor league sports tryout fees are almost always cash only (some may accept credit card on the website).

Reno said they had tryouts. But, pickup games do not count. Plus it was not held where it was to be.

Was at the Satdium Fitness http://stadiumsportandfitness.com/ club last night, I saw the Sharpshooters were practicing.
I saw Head Coach Ethan O'Bryant was involved in the 5 on 5 practice. I didn't recognize any of the other players as former Nevada players as stated on the RGJ.com article.

I did hear Ethan talking to a friend prior to practice , he stated they have NO place to play yet.?
Also said they could have NEVER played at the Stadium, they BB courts are not regulation size!!!

Try-outs?? Of course they had try-outs, that is the SOLE source of income for almost ALL ABA teams. Try-outs help them put money in the bank and get the balance above their starting capital of $11.65.

Good point Barkley.

BBGirl - The ABA charges players anywhere from 50-200 bucks to try out for the team. Some have made more on tryouts than ticket sales.

Kind of like going down to the car wash and applying for a job, but the owner suddenly says, for 100 bucks you can wash cars all day, then I can see if you are good enough.

The car wash vs ABA analogy is NOT FUNNY.
