Saw an online report that Macon, Georgia is being courted by af2, WIFL and UIF.

UIF? WTF?

Boy, if I'm the WIFL, I'm kinda pissed that UIF is trying to go behind my back in my backyard.

Link?

I'll agree that this would be a stupid move if true.

That's the UIFL, not the UIF(A). The UIFL was supposed to start this season with teams in the south and it's mean driving force was the Arkansas Stars, formerly of the NIFL. They were going to play as the UIFL and there was going to be an NAIFL (backed by the semi-pro NAFL) and then there was going to be a merger with the two leagues and that turned into the NAIFL putting its resources behind the UIFL but the league didn't play a down this season and they hoped to regroup for 08. This is not the UIF whose closest team would be, if they stay in the UIF, the Lexington Horsemen.

That's the UIFL, not the UIF(A).

The UIFL stood/stands for the ULTIMATE Indoor Football League.

The article clearly says ;
REGINA MCDUFFIE, CENTREPLEX GENERAL MANAGER
"There's the United Indoor Football League, The World Football league, they have interest in our area. The World team has a team in Columbus and a couple of other cities around."

The Ultimate league makes more sense but...
