All,
You have my apologies for my statements in regards to WHAFAN's post. I will admit when I am wrong, and I was so and crossed the line about as bad as it gets. After going through so many posts, sometimes the fingers override the judgement of the brain and just goes overboard. For my lack of professionalism, you all have my apologies.

Fells is still the champ in my book. He has been one of the few that has told the honest story in a professional, credible way.
Personally, he should have any opinion that he wants and should post it here whenever he wants.....whether that opinion is that dbaproball is a scumbag or whafan is not very funny. Only difference is that perhaps it should come as "FellsthePoster" and not "FellstheModerator."
In the end, the guys that run this board can do whatever they want because it is theirs. At some point there will be accountability to the sponsors of the forum that pay the bills, who obviously are interested in web hits. If it goes in the direction of not being a true open forum, nobody will tap in or care, which of course will not be good for business.
There seems to be a little guilt lately somewhere about the numbers of ABA critics that post here. Perhaps the league has made more recent threats about shutting down the board? Certainly they have created a "mock war" with the PBL and CBA because teams have jumped. To my knowledge, I have never seen or heard of any CBA or PBL official or team owner even acknowledge, care, or criticize publicly anything about the ABA. They quietly view it as a debacle and have chosen to move on.
Contrast that with comments from some team owners on this board (that continue to make themselves and their league look bad and unprofessional), as well as what is coming from the league leader(s). Have I really read some recent posts correctly? One known team owner calling out another owner's very bad behavior (yes, potentially criminal) publicly on this board? Wow. I'm still waiting for somone in response to call for a comparison of criminal background checks of owners in the CBA, PBL, and D-league vs what they find in the ABA. How interesting would that be?

Perhaps I could throw my 2 cents in here. Living in Chicago, Bulls tickets are hard to come by, not to mention expensive. It would be nice to watch some "pro" basketball that doesn't necessitate a home equity loan for tickets.
Trying to get information from Newman concerning the Throwbacks is a joke, the teams website is a joke, no location, phone number, unanswered emails and so on. My way of thinking is that if we continually call these idiots out, make fun of them and ridicule them, they will either change their ways or disappear.
Was my idea of the Ace Hardware Basketball Association that far fetched? Really, if you look at the details, what's the difference? Newman does NOTHING to combat the wrongs with this crap, just blame everyone else for your mistakes. It's really quite pathetic. In his head, this is the ABA of old.
This ABA is like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays changing their name to the Yankees. What exactly does that do?
