It it always a drag when a team folds but in
the af2 where teams seem to fail by design ,
it's business as usual.
quote:
"Veteran NFL defensive lineman Sam Adams told The Herald of Everett yesterday that the arena football team that he has owned for the past two seasons will not be back next year.
Adams says he informed the league of his decision three weeks ago.
Adams says he has lost more than $3 million since launching the Hawks in 2005."

Is Adams going to keep his pitiful Cincinnati franchise running?

Sam Adams got cut by the Bengals in the spring.
That means the Jungle Kats are good as dead...

More like zombies, because the Crush probably won't let him set up shop in Fort Collins.
I figure he'll just own and neglect them like he did Everett.

Sam must love Football to attempt to run two teams. It is a sad day for everyone when a team folds. I blame the people of Everett; they must have not supported the team. Sam should hold his head up high and say, I tried. I wish I had the money to start a team. If you read this Sam, you are a good man keep it going.

WTF?! He was a horrible owner, went through 7 GMs, fielded a poor team, was unresponsive to the fans, and essentially sparked one of the few genuine fan revolts I've seen in indoor football. If anybody from Everett posted here, they would be slamming you right now. Just read the West division boards at af2.com.

I did not say he was a good owner. All I said was he tried, and failed. Have you owned a team? Did your team make it?

The GM for Everett is attempting to unveil a new team, while Cincinnati is owned by a group of players.

What you should say is "SAM take your bi polar medication and quit trying to do every one's job." Thats why you hire a front office.

Sam is what you call a big time micro-manager. Unfortunately, that doesnt work when you do not handle the day-to-day operations. While I applaud his initial efforts when he began in the NIFL, I think he should focus on completing his NFL career before taking on any additional roles.

My philosophy of sports ownership is much like Yoda's...
Do, or do not. There is no try.
I don't feel inclined to give praise to someone simply for "trying". Sam Adams saw the Hawks and Jungle Kats as his "toys" (for lack of a better term) and soon grew bored and disinterested with them when they did not win. I'm not going to play the stupid Pollyanna game of "they are trying, so you should support them."
You're also bagging on the fans in Everett-and they are among the most devoted and dedicated in Indoor football.

I want to learn from the Jedi Master. Will you teach me the ways of the "Arena Football"?

Whoops, guess you forgot how unsuccessful Evansville in their barn of an arena. Then there's Omaha and Lexington.
Yeah, that's a business model for success.
The criticism of the af2 is getting old.

But after Golden and Sam Adams, it's valid again.
As is letting Macgregor own up to a third of the league.

The criticism of the af2 is getting old. Evansville's arena seats 11,000. The floor was small, but the arena is a far cry from a barn. Teams fold in all these leagues. Poor ownership is sometimes the problem, sometimes it's no support from the community, either way it happens in ALL of the leagues. Indoor/Arena football is not a profitable sport for most

That was exactly my point. There are certain voices on this board who boast about one league and have nothing but negatism for af2. Their criticism seems jaded toward af2 only.
All league have their problems - af2, UIF, WIFL, AIFA.
