From what I read,as of 09/02/07, Bernie Kosar is attemting to own an arena(AFL) team in Cleveland,OH. If this comes to fruition, the fans of Cleveland will have football all year round and another reason to get excited!! As I have been stating, Cleveland is definitely a city that should have an arena team. It would fit right in with the Browns,Cavs, and Indians(and I guess the Monsters). I strongly believe the city will prosper with the addition of another sporting event/season!! Many people may not believe that Cleveland is a city on a silent rise but,if the AFL's 20th team is annexed here, then I would encourage the rest of the league not to sleep on C-Town!! Yes, even as an expansion team!!! Can anyone say:"new battle of Ohio coming soon(Columbus vs. Cleveland)!"

Common thought has Kosar picking up the Las Vegas Gladiators and moving them to Cleveland. So you don't get an expansion team.

To say nothing about if the league ever decides to expand to Pittsburgh...Now that would be BIG!

And where did they originally play? Columbus!

One of the BEST examples of team reception being different: The Columbus Thunderbolts were a flop (I don't think they won a game in Columbus), but the Destroyers seem to have pretty good fan support.

So, even if the Cleveland Thunderbolts didn't do good, that isn't really an indicator of what a Cleveland team would do now...

I didn't realize the LV Gladiators were for sale? So much for ArenaBowl returning to Sin City.

Well, maybe we'll finally get to see some professional football in Cleveland... I've been missing it since Modell left in '95.

If Butch Davis the GM didn't get in the way of Butch Davis the coach, we'd probably be a perennial playoff contender right now.

The Columbus Thunderbolts sold out all of their home games in 1991. They played in a very small arena with no air conditioning that was not really suitable for professional sports (this was long before Nationwide Arena was built). The Cleveland Thunderbolts actually played in Richfield, which (I think) is a somewhat significant distance from downtown Cleveland. Bernie Kosar is a friend of Gladiators owner Jim Ferraro; I don't know if Kosar would be an owner or part-owner of a Cleveland team or not.

If there is going to be 20 AFL teams for the '08 season, they'll need to expand by 2. Austin is stepping down to afl2. Right now, with the Gladiators still penciled in in LV, the league stands at 18 teams.
