Has anyone heard anything new about this league? I think they should start just a British Columbia Pro Baseball League. It would save money on travel and B.C. is a huge baseball province. With semi-pro leagues such as the WMBL in Alberta and Saskatchewan, and the Inter-County league in Ontario, it would be tough to start a pro league in those areas, and plus with what the CBL did already to those areas. Could see the league in possibly these cities:

Kelowna
Kamloops
Nanaimo
Victoria
Abbotsford
Trail
Burnaby
Coquitlam
Langley
Prince George
Grand Forks
Richmond

Players would defnitely come from all over the country to play in the league

I'm not sure what purpose another very low calibre pro league would accomplish.

There are a lot of people within WMBL circles who despise the Calgary Dawgs because they represent a move by the league to be bigger, and move to a true college season. Most of the old SMBL holdovers realize this is the end of their teams if so.

Ideally, I'd like to see the WMBL's four Alberta markets: Calgary, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge split with the WMBL, join Kelowna and Langley of the PIL, Victoria, currently unaffiliated, and a new team in Kamloops to form an all Canadian College summer league. Or, even a Canadian conference of the PIL itself.

That, to me, would make far more sense than a low calibre pro league, especially since most teams already are established.

Not to mention that I emailed the WCBL over a month ago with no response. I'd say the league is dead.
