I guess Biloxi, MS is not getting an AFL2 team. they have awarded two cities a franchise, so I guess Biloxi will not field a team.
Mississipi is the only state in the south without and AFL2 team. After all, Mississippi is the Football Capital, so you would figure we (Mississippi) would get a team.
Maybe next year.

Hold on there! Not all the expansion teams are awarded at once!

You still might get one!

Who says Mississippi is the football capital? But MLM is right, the af2 doesn't announce everything at once.

I think ESPN named it the high school football capital or something.

Too many states to name one as most people voting probably have never seen run-of-the-mill football, at any level, in more than just a couple states.

Well, there was a report that stated Mississippi was the #1 state if football. That included high school, college and professional football on all levels.
There are more Mississippians playing football per capita than any other state.
Also, Mississippi was ranked the #1 State in Baseball.

And more kids play soccer than any other sport. Doesn't make the sport the best.

When's the last time Ole Miss and Mississippi State were truly relevant on the national stage in college football?

I'd put Texas ahead of Mississippi easily.

The interesting thing I've been pointed to is that Louisiana turns out more pro prospects per capita than Texas does. Discuss.

...and Steve Spurrier can't keep 'em all in state, apparently.

Is that a good example of coaches perhaps not being as valuable as the program?
