Also, you can move the Lake Charles Landsharks to the the "Defunct Teams" section. The Swashbucklers are NOT the former Landsharks, a common misconception. The Landsharks were owned by CS and folded altogether. Thom Hager started the Swashbucklers from scratch in 2005 and went from averaging less than 500 fans per game (after CS burned the market) to where they are now averaging well over 4250 fans per game. The Landsharks and Swashbucklers are two totally unrelated franchises.

Rapid City had 2 jumps into the NIFL:

Rapid City Red Dogs: Started after the Black Hills Machine/IFL ceased to exist. Moved to the UIF and became the Black Hills Red Dogs

Rapid City Flying Aces: Start-up franchise when the UIF BHRD's folded.

Partly true... The first year of the Swashbucklers, they played in the NIFL.... ,CS did not Own the team, she owned the equipment and field.. They have since gotten a new field and everything.. Their is Nothing with that team that Involves CS to this date.. But Year one was a different story. Mr Hager was the Gm for the Landsharks their last season they were called that i believe. He handled the day in day out operation. If i wrong on that i will gladly stand corrected, but i know i was told all of this from a source from the Lake Charlse area that is in the know.

Sorry, Nut. But your information is inaccurate. SWLA may have leased turf and equipment from CS in 2005. However, they are two totally different franchises. Furthermore, Thom Hager was never employed by the Land Sharks. Hager has never been in business with CS, other than having a team in her league. Nor, was he ever in her employment. Hager was the General Manager of the Lake Charles Ice Pirates (WPHL), but never the Landsharks. Teams lease equiment all the time. To this day, Hager leases his team bus from Dick Shiver. That doesn't mean that Thom Hager and Dick Shiver are in business together. Just means that Hager is paying Dick Shiver for the use of his bus, nothing else.

This doesn't come from someone in the know in Lake Charles, but from Thom Hager himself.

While it's hard to follow where all the teams moved to and from- you can't count the Waco Marshals as a failed franchise unless you count the Cincinnati Marshals as such. The reality is that the Waco team moved to Cincinnati.....so technically, that would count as the same franchise.

NOT THAT IT MATTERS :p

Are the af2 Fort Wayne and UIF/NIFL Fort Wayne teams really connected?

Are the af2 Fort Wayne and UIF/NIFL Fort Wayne teams really connected? Only in the sense that copperhead mentioned. The Fusion purchased the assets of the Freedom. (basically the building lease)
